That security guard made my day for letting you in! I really expected that he'd say it's against the rules for tourists to wander around and he sadly has to ask you to leave, like in most places, but the campus looked so nice and you actually met great people, so big props to the guy for getting you a visitors card!

I used to do security night patrols, and Pokemon Go players were the holy grail of what you want to see near sites you patrol. Thieves and assorted other unsavory individuals don't like people hanging round with phones out when they're trying to do their thing, so a bunch of Pokemon Go players are a great deterrent! Also, the look on folks' faces when a security guard pulls up next to them and asks if they know where that blasted Dragonite that's showing up on the radar is. Priceless! (Turns out it was round the corner and down a side street, nowhere close to the stop it was showing as being near)

@@Christizm we have different memories of it then, because as someone living in a big city, I hated launch so much I actually quit until 2020. people blindly crossing streets and getting hurt in stampedes is not fun and gave pokemon players a really bad rep. also gyms were so toxic. you'd get 24/7 sweaty andys defending gyms with maxed out dragonites and it was impossible to hold a gym long enough to even put a dent in your daily allowance cap. i know it seems insane by today's standards because they nerfed the heck out of it. end game was completely trash and most the features that have been added in the last few years should have been lanch functionality. i guarantee you if campfire was around in 2016 we'd have at least 5x the retained player base. i feel like it was too little too late. every single person from my social media friends lists quit before 2018. if it weren't for the remote raid ease-of-access in Poke Genie, I'd have no active friends at all

I really love how your videos mostly focus on the actual location/community aspect of the game, and how you try to stay adventurous and open-minded (especially in places you've never been before). All the players have good reason to film and comment on the actual game aspects and Pokemon IV's and things obviously, but watching you explore and enjoy what's around you is also why I personally have loved the game since launch. It's really rad you try to bring light to the community when you can and show how much you love the world around you fr.

I want to share a PoGo story from a couple weeks ago. I flew into Vancouver from farther north in BC. I was riding the train from the airport and spinning discs and grabbing gym badges where I could. After several minutes a Spanish international student sitting beside me asked if I was playing Pokémon Go. He opened his game as well and we got to chatting. He was hoping that I might have a Kangaskhan to trade him as he needed it for his last Kanto dex entry. I did have an extra one for him. I was scrolling through my pretty full dex and he spotted that I didn’t have a Maractus. He did. So we both got our regional new Pokémon! They were lucky Pokemon to boot. I went a bit further and unlocked an extra move for his. Great surprise for the start of my short trip.

I went to St George's about six or seven years ago, to play Pokemon go, and add the regional Pokemon to my Pokedex. It was a rare occurrence I had extra money, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I was surprised about how steep the hills were and God, the steps. It took me about a good chunk of my vacation time just going around and taking over all the gyms on the right side of the island. I wonder if any of my Pokemon are still in those Jim's or if they've been taking over and replace countless times since then? I am team Mystic and I still am and was back then.

I plan on visiting Canada sometime in my lifetime, but I don't know when. And some of the places I visited as a child, teenager, we're before Pokemon go and even Pokemon were invented. So I have to revisit them while having Pokemon go. Travel for Pokemon go purposes has only become more expensive even before the recession. I was lucky or unfortunate, to receive a inheritance which allowed me to go to St George's in the first place. I knew if I held onto the money, it would eventually be used up on things like rent, and bills, and I would have done nothing with it. And I knew the inheritance they gave me was to be used for something other than everyday necessities.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed that video from start to finish. You have always done a great job documenting your adventures while playing Pokémon Go. Even with all the drama in the community, you still find a way to make Pokémon go videos enjoyable. As someone with ancestry from and appreciates the Caribbean, kudos to you for pronouncing Grenada correctly! I'm glad you went to Grenada! Really isn't that talked about compared to the more popular places in the Caribbean like St. Martin/Maarten or Puerto Rico. This has such a wholesome story of college students wanting to make their university a better place and thus attracting people like you to the campus. Great to see that a Pokémon community DOES exist there and that even people on sleepy Grenada watch your videos which says a lot about your impact. This game of ours really does bring so many people from different walks of life together and it's beautiful.

Grenada has a pretty cool flag at 0:57! The flag has a nutmeg on its left side as the island is the second-largest producer of nutmeg in the world, and the island is known as the Spice Isle because of it. The stars on the top and bottom represent the six parishes of the island, and the one in the middle represents the capital! Wonderful video! It’s so cool that you can go do these adventures and show us how diverse the world can be, but how a simple thing like a game can bring even the most different of people together. This is such a creative concept, you definitely go above and beyond to create your content. Love how you combine your two passions: traveling and Pokémon. 🇬🇩🇬🇩 YES!! Grenada to the World!! 🇬🇩🇬🇩 Although I play and live in the UK normally, I did play the game in Grenada for 3 months last year. There is a small community, but most of the gameplay is in the capital (St George's). It was an amazing experience, and I wished they had more point of interest in the game so players could explore the country more. Love my home country ❤️ Grenada 🇬🇩.

@Tangarisu I haven't personally experienced being in the country when it comes to hurricanes, but we haven't been hit severely by one since 2004. So, the procedures would have changed.

Finding players in an area where you just came in is like when I was starting with pogo here in our area, approaching those likely to be playing pogo hahaha, it will always be heart warming ❤️

Trainer I will tell you right now as someone who hasn’t played the game in a minute. These type videos are amazing, you don’t even need to make it about the least amount of views. You could basically be a Pokémon Go travel vlogger. Videos like this make me want to get back into Go!

This vid is so good. This is (kinda) how I've played since the beginning. I love going to small towns, playing solo, meeting people to trade in other countries. Recently traveled to Norway. I did in-person trades with 6 people that I "met" through SilphRoad (RIP). Such a small world. So many great experiences playing this game. Thanks for the amazing content!

Absolutely excellent, Nick! Incorporating what you WANT to do (travel), with what you "do for a living" (make PoGo content videos), and managing to incorporate those 2 ideas into a singular vacation/video idea that allowed you to check both those boxes, despite the dreary times this game is in. You are an absolute gem to the community for doing things like this, and Niantic has an invaluable resource in you highlighting just how amazing and rewarding it can be to actually go outside and play this game (when Niantic makes it accessible enough for people to do so).

Very cool Nick!!!! And you should never truly take who watches and doesn't watch your video's personally. You do an amazing job and you have your solid subscribers and customers. You were the one that taught me everything i needed to know when I started playing pokemon Go in 2020. Yea I started late in life with the game lol but as much as you helped me , i would owe you a check for plenty of money in knowledge to make me a better player lol But I understand views are important for youtube , totally get that . Just remember inside why you help so many people/players and the future players!!!! Thank you Nick

Hands down best video I have seen on your channel. Hearing how the campus has grown its stops and gyms brings more light to how much effort it takes to have a place to play. I hope you continue exploring other places in and outside the US to see how/where the communities play.

As someone who lives in the cayman Islands, I can explain the whole "US internet" thing a bit Basically, the internet from the US runs through a pipe underground/water to our destinations and then is redistributed by the local ISP's to each person. Everyone who has an internet connection gets assigned their own "public IP address" (each household). It's very common for the public IP that gets assigned to a person in the Caribbean to actually be a public IP address from the US lol (or even another island altogether)
