I played Pokémon go for only 1 month the first month it came out in 2016. I planned a trip to Japan for 28 days this past February. I decided to start playing again just before heading out. I played like crazy in Japan. Crazy raids, crazy amount of gyms and poke stops. I just came back to Canada. I feel so spoiled now playing in Tokyo. Now I’m struggling to play here

That's what sucks about these games where its so dependent on "local" elements compared to the official pokemon games. I live in an area too where there is maybe only a dozen pokestops in like 10 miles of me and no one really plays. If you want people to feel bad about where they live or happened to be born or of their poor living situation because they can't travel, you make a game exactly like this@@talonmason4243

If you want insane - when you get so many players the internet stops, that is just normal. Taking 30 minutes to get into a raid - that can be just normal for a non-popular spot. Yes, I waited, eventually got to the raid once people moved to other spots..

Hello from Tokyo - where you play also makes a big difference. Some areas are friendly and have huge communities (where I live), others are more isolated, but still good grinding spots. If I had not been playing (while working) in Kyoto, would have been great to be able to meet.
@free2rhyme2142 жыл бұрын
The reason why so many people can raid in person in Tokyo is because it's extremely walkable and has fast, easy public transportation, which we severely lack in the US. At least we're getting high speed rail in California though. (10+ years from now)

LOVE this video and yes I'm very blessed to be living in Tokyo! Thanks for showing it to the world! Just to clarify a little bit: (1) all of the advantages you mentioned are true, but for raids if you are at a smaller non major station, there are very little people in raid lobbies unless you go in when the egg hatches. (2) One disadvantage playing in Tokyo is it is very difficult to earn gold consistently by occupying gyms, unless for some people who have time and attention to put extra efforts in occupying gyms everyday, I have a long work schedule and don't have a group of friends close by who can fight gyms together, so I very rarely get to put a Pokemon in a gym on a regular day. Eventually end up buying gold, but it is my choice in play style and I am happy with it since the game give me so much fun times. For others, especially free to play players, will need to put extra effort in this area in order to get gold. ^^"

Buddy functionality idea: What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the trainer were given the ability to improve the buddy’s IVs by 1? And let’s say the Km needed were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV improvement. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. Pros: - This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon. - Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex. Cons: - All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough - Pvp players would need to make sure to avoid gaining hearts walking their buddy, or not apply the “bonding” IVs earned. If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly. Side note: Could it be this is why Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu was so powerful? Because Ash built a string relationship with him? Second side note: friend me so we can help each other to lvl50! 6436 8135 6368

I think Niantic should introduce breeding into the game. It's in so many other pokemon games that I think it would just make sense. It would allow people to gain more of a certain pokemon, roll new IVs, and also roll lower CPs, if they want it to be low enough for the Great or Ultra Leagues. It would add functionality to the gender of your pokemon, and encourage players to catch at least one male and female version of each pokemon. Of course, this wouldn't apply to most legendaries, as they're mostly genderless, so I don't think it'd be OP. It would also explain where eggs come from, which are already in the game.

The actual best place to play as far as I know is Zaragoza, a city in spain, yes it has a lot of spoofing but if you want to go you're going to have lures wherever you go and all the raids will be filled with people during the entire timer of the raid, it is bad if you want to take over gyms but if you are just visiting and have plenty of raid passes that would be disneyland for you xd
