Lots of great moments this year. Passing my full license first home in Jan, getting my first big bike CBR650R in April, but Mainly a 7 day Tour of Europe chasing my son (ex BSB) on his Ducati V4S on Autobahns and round the Austrian Alps! Stunning! Looking forward to another tour next year and my son thinks I need a Ducati Diavel V4 for that 🎉 He’s a generous lad !

My happiest moment on my bike this year when I fell off my new bike which I had picked up from the dealer. It's my first bike and luckily I had bought crash protection bars for the engine area and they did their job. I was so grateful I'd paid the extra and feel I got my money back with an hour of getting the bike.

Feel for you though, first bike last year GXS125 cat N I repaired but son said don’t bother fixing the front fender or side panels as your bound to drop it! Didn’t so replaced them before I sold it and first big bike CBR650R pleased to say haven’t dropped that either despot my sons lack of faith! But there for the grace of god go any of us! I would like to talk you out of a super duke Evo, I bought a 2022 Evo and have rode at 1500 miles and owned it for six months and it’s been in the shop for 2 1/2 months. It has a severe issue where it is cutting power under acceleration and it is quite terrifying. The dealership was able to duplicate the issue and KTM is very slow to fix the problem. Keep up the great work with the continent.

The reference to the muddy playground resembling a WWI battlefield had me laughing out loud 😆, oh the mental picture 👍. Now, my happiest motorcycle event of the year was giving up on a brand new 2022 KTM SDR-EVO that they tried and failed three times to exorcise the gremlins out of, and moving my “investment” 😱 into an 890 Duke-R……and honestly I couldn’t be happier 😃!

@@timrodierides PP is amazing. I had the standard V4s beforehand and the PP is a lot sportier with the 17inch front wheel. To me, it looks a lot nicer too. Definitely worth a spin on one if you did get the opportunity. Welcome to have a go on mine if you're around Oxford way. Enjoy the SDR too, I have one and and it's literally the best road bike for everything but long distance touring (although i did manage to get down the south of france on mine with the soft panniers...).

Happy New Year Tim, so many good parts of 2022. Ridden over 12k miles this year. I think the single best feeling was riding from Orlando to Los Angeles across the USA. I was surprised how emotional I felt when we got to the West coast, truly amazing. I also had 2 weeks touring Spain and Portugal which was amazing and another first for me. We chose to ride down through France going and spent 3 days riding from Rotterdam over the Pyrenees which was fantastic, definitely want to do the Pyrenees again. I picked my new bike up in October (GS1250 Trophy Edition) and it's sat in the garage ever since, due to work and weather I haven't managed to get out on it, roll on the warmer weather. I'm like you and although I use the bike for commuting on the rare occasion I have to go to the office I really don't like riding with the potential of ice around.

Hi Tim, nice video as ever! Love to watch you waffling about biking in general and the KTM in special... ...speaking of: I want to thank you, because I bought a 1290 SAS too this year and your videos (especially your review, saw it way too often) helps alot in my decision. After trying all the big adv (except the HD) it was as clear as it could be that I have to buy the KTM. That thing is a smile delivery machine everytime I ride it. Looove it so much and that is in part thanks to you! So my wishes for your next year are of course more time for riding and a lot of fun bikes to test! As a father of two (14 and 11) I can say that is it all gets better. And you get more time. Hold on, it is not as long as you think! Oh, and go and buy that fu*#!ng Arrow Exhaust! That changed so much for me. Now its complete and after about 6000 miles this year I couldn't be happier. Again, thank you so much and a happy new year! Greetz Schleusser

My best moment this year was finally getting another bike (Daytona 675) after a few years of not having one, due to being banned by the Mrs! Question for you Tim… Money no object, if you had to do plenty of touring/commuting, would you still have your KTM SAS1290, or would you go for a fully specced BMW R1250RT? Cheers again for the honest content - always enjoy your vids. Happy new year!

Glad you got unbanned! I do love the 675, I really miss my old one. To answer your question... I'd stick with my SAS. The RT is utterly brilliant, but the KTM has a much naughtier streak. Hey - thanks! It's been 4 years since I rode a Street RS to be honest, but from memory the Tuono's pegs are higher. Not a ridiculous amount, I could tour on either.
