Glad you were able to repair the kicker on the water. I know a fella here on Lake Superior who got a rope stuck in his main engine and by the time he got the kicker going a wave swamped (overturned) his boat. Nice coho's! Way more fight than their fresh water cousins.

Ouch! That would totally suck. We worry about our main motor going down in the winter and trying to get the kicker started on rough weather. A new kicker is on the wishlist for sure. Have a great week Ray.

@AnAlaskaHomestead Жыл бұрын
The downriver let’s you drop the weighted ball down to an exact depth. Let’s say you’re in 100’ of water and you want your bait at 50 or 60’. Once the fish takes the hook your line pops off the down rigger. Then all you have to do is reel, clean and cook 👍

Hi there this is Bruce's wife Jennifer...we live in Canada ......on the east coast and we understand about winter and how cold it gets. Now as a woman I watch you videos but I look at them from a womans point of view. Your wife has the most magnificent hair....long and a truely pretty colour. My question to you is .......with water collection etc ...How does she keep it looking so good. Does she use special shampoos or does she wait till she goes to her Moms place.It always looks good....maybe you brush it for her every night..LOL.....anyway I was really curious. The show is great .....you are reall people living a real life.....Take Care Jenn
@AnAlaskaHomestead5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer thank you so much for saying that. This year has been a real struggle with the hair. Since we started the garden this summer all the water we collected went there, so no hair washing was done at the cabin. I spray my hair with aloe juice and argan oil that I mix up and Brian brushes it out for me. So yes by the time we do come into town, it definitely hair washing time - Diana :)

Normally 6 dishes per fish. Depending on size of course. We do both freeze and then give some to a friend and he smokes them. We typically smoke all the pink salmon and freeze and smoke some of the silver. We plan on doing some more fishing this week. Maybe we can do a catch and cook video. 👍

I have an off topic question for you. Why do Alaskans call the snowmobile a “snow machine”? There’s parts of this county that say words different like vase will be pronounced voss. But why an entirely different word? You’re from Oklahoma, I’m sure you get it! They are snowmobiles, like the real name for a car is automobile. I may actually refuse to call them “snow machines.” The word machine implies that it’s a machine that makes snow, like a cappuccino machine, don’t you think? They are snowmobiles! A vehicle that can be mobile on snow without any problem! Then again, a vehicle is actually a machine.... but I’m still calling them snowmobiles because the rest of the 49 states seem to call it a snowmobile.

OH Nooooo. SGT Hulka is no more 😭 All we have left is the scares, memories, and lessons learned. It’s just a standard size not so special toe now. Tisk tisk. Speaking of tisk tisk, again with the fake fisherman’s fake news. That’s right said fake twice. Your video set up had you with two, granddad with two for a total of four, hummm. Only voices, no grandddad, but heard Gunner yapping to you from the bow, no shot of all four fish together, again, and the Video shows Di catching and you net it for her. (Head shaking left to right over and over) tisk tisk again. You negatively are impacting millions of your public with these fabrications. We need a hero to execute an intervention of moral, ethical, and truthful behavioral resetting. Use of electricity optional. I am planning on joining the AK Fish Police and moving in next door to shut this ring down(Insert theme from “Cops” here). Apology for being late with this, got back from Japan this morning, still jet lagging too. Did you know they have KitKats in other flavors? I brought back grape, peach, strawberry, melon, and reg chocolate. Passed on their green tea flavor. We get left and right cuz Hersey makes them here. Heard Nestle makes them in Japan and Hersey blocks the other flavor imports. Be seeing ya around campus..

Ha I would love to see you in your fish police uniform. Something from Reno 911 would be fitting.😂 I actually did know KitKat had other flavors.
