Super helpful video man! I'm definitely doing this on my NK180.

Where did you get the PVC fitting at? I can only find a single amazon listing for such a piece. None of the hardware stores I've been to have such specific fittings. Also, great videos overall man. I've gotten a heck of a lot of ideas from you and have watched every single one of your vids that applies to the project I'm doing. Thanks for putting in the effort.

Thanks John. I buy the PVC piece at either Home depot of Lowes plumbing sections.

Do you have a video of the said trolling motor?

The same type of modified trolling motor is shown in many of my modified and shakedown cruise videos.

I don't know. What make and model is your motor?

@@Michael-ff1ut If you use 12V, then you only need one positive and one negative wire.

Hi, I’ve been watching some videos on PMM’s. what I don’t understand is if the motor is on 5 and they say you get around 2 hrs of battery on a 100 ah and if it’s on a lower number you get a lot longer. I thought the different speeds use the same amount of energy and the lower speeds just waste the excess in heat. What’s the point of the PWM then if you get longer at lower speeds? Thanks
@Aksmaniyak2 жыл бұрын
Basically, the standard switch uses the same current at every speed which is wasted as heat in the resistors. A PWM uses less energy by pulsing only the current needed. It draws less current at lower speeds.

Probably a dumb question but what do I do with the other switch wires that aren't being used?
@Aksmaniyak3 жыл бұрын
Cap them off and hide in the shaft.

@@Aksmaniyak so youre only using the black and red from trolling motor to connect to the control box?

@@lackerslacker Yes, that is all you need with a PWM.

Hi. That's exactly what I want to do for my Hero. I plan to lock mine in a centered direction. Just use my paddle to steer. How did you run the wires from the motor to the battery. Did you have to drill holes? I'm getting a low power simple motor like the water snake and use a RF remote control reverse polarity switch.
@Aksmaniyak3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the kayak. On some I used a trolling motor plug and others directly to the battery.

Did you use pvc cement to glue on you 90 degree elbow or did you just press it on? My seems rather loose. I tried marine goop but it didn't stick.
@Aksmaniyak2 жыл бұрын
I use marine goop sometimes. Lately, I have just heat formed the elbow for a tight fit that I tap onto the shaft for easy removal.
