The BEST view of the TX-500! Such video quality, you can clearly see the whole radio. I'd really like it if you would of talked more about SSB as I don't do CW yet. Cheers

I have had one of these since they were launched. Its a great radio. I use mine on SSB in the car. The transmit audio has good processing. I agree eith you about the CW weight. I think people who have used mechanical bug keys like a longer dah.

I've been considering this radio. I have a few concerns. The first that the audio chips keep burning out in some circumstances when using an external tuner in some circumstances. These chips are no longer in production! The second is with the bp500 fiasco. The batteries didn'tl charge properly, occasionally setting fires. That's why they became unobtainable. These plus the lack of support really disappointed me as I so wanted this radio.

I bought the TX-500 before I knew Morse code (got on the air with CW around the end of September), so it's nice to know that it's in good regard with a more veteran CW op. I can recommend to use a Nintendo Switch case for the TX-500, I think it needs to be for the original Switch (not the OLED), I believe that the case I use is not in production any more otherwise I would find a link. 73 de LB1KJ

The auto notch didn’t work on the one I had. Noise Blanker also was very ineffective. Mic would go dead and had to power cycle to get it back. Some good, some bad unfortunately.

Hi - it just means which side of zero beat you will hear the tone. In cases with QRM, it is sometimes beneficial to switch to reverse CW so you end up on the other side of zero beat. The other station will still hear you. It is basically the same as USB and LSB, but for CW.

You should have mentioned that LAB599 that has designed and manufactured the Discovery is a russian company.

The manufacturer is Russian and is circumventing the ongoing embargo by selling via a transit country, in this case the United Arab Emirates. 😒 I find it morally reprehensible to advertise/support companies whose revenues could worsen the situation in Ukraine. 👎
