The Trollstigen (Trolls' ladder) Mountain Road is one of Norway's most dramatic and most visited attractions. The historic Trollstigen road, with its 11 hairpin bends, was opened in 1936,
Trollstigen has a steep incline of 9 percent and consists of 11 hairpin bends up a steep mountainside. Encircling the road are lofty mountains. Names such as Kongen (the King), Dronningen (the Queen) and Bispen(the Bishop) confirm their majesty.

the most dangerous road in world is Death Road in Bolivia still used by extreme people, but there is a highway built near it for those that don't want to risk, highway was built in this century somewhere, before, people had to risk and many ended up dying.

I have driven more dangerous roads even in Norway at the west coast. Much smaller, much windier, much less guardrail. You could not see oncoming traffic until you hit it. I have no idea how I survived. I still don't know how people survive driving there. I decided to leave the area, never to return.

Norway is the loveliest country I have ever visited....it is my favourite and I would dearly love to return, yet again, but sadly my travelling days are over. Maybe next time you try and convince people this road is dangerous take the video both in Winter and in Snow/Icy conditions. I daresay this road can be dangerous, especially in Winter. However there are other roads in Europe which are a lot more dangerous. Also, most accidents are caused by Human Error. And there seems to be a lot of that in Russia.

It rains and snows a lot in this part of Norway. Slippery roads are the biggest problem you'll face. The road is only relatively wide as long as the steering wheel works.
@theragingcyclone
@theragingcyclone 4 жыл бұрын
@@politicallycorrectredskin796 Not sure what you are complaining about. There are two reasons for the slippery road, one because of ice on the road and another one because of poor construction and maintenance. If the road is well built and maintained then ice problems can be mitigated by using type chains and driving slow. But otherwise, its good to drive. On the other hand when road is bumpy and poorly maintained then you not only has ice problem but also bumpy ride and potholes as well.

Certainly way less dangerous than a lot of roads we have in Ireland. As one of Ireland’s Norwegian immigrants, I can certainly tell you Trollstigen is child’s play compared to some of the Kerry and West Cork peninsula drives. They’re closer to Bolivian mountain crossings if you ask me.

Seriously why the most dangerous?. You must be joking, bro. The only thing with which to be careful is in the turns, in case you find any large volume vehicle or a motorhome. For the rest, it may happen that a large stone falls on your vehicle, but come on, you will not go down the hill unless you get lost. a big hug for you (and don't be such a scary person).

Again: it rains there constantly, so the roadway is usually slippery. Foreigners have no idea what the weather is like in Norway. Rain, snow, sleet, wind and zero predictability. That's why it's this well built too. Any cracks and the rain and snow will just wash the entire road away in a couple of years.
