I love when physical humor is used in concerts. When I was in band at high school I had an intense snare part. The instructor decided it would be funny if I had the sticks bounce out of my hand at the end of the song. Same instructor who gave me a car brake and a sledge hammer for a part. Percussion is fun.

@lincolnv9261
@lincolnv9261 2 жыл бұрын
@@garbagemancan And what's the point of your reply? Hannah is bringing up the relatable feeling of a conductor's evil glare when you play someone else's part, as we are intended to suspect from the video. However, the music is written that way, because Copland thinks he's funny. Any way, Hannah added something to the discussion, whereas you, with your reply, add nothing of value. Writing, just like music, conveys an idea or emotion, often one that is strong or relatable. Copland did this, Hannah did this, and you, well you missed the memo I guess. Shucks.
@lincolnv9261

@UCFpke6rB34BBV7P3y0aEO8w Ah yes, sorry. The title “when Copland writes “with humor”” really makes the gag obvious. In case it weren’t clear, that was sarcasm. Though I’m sure you know by “In c-“ due to your amazing deductive reasoning skills. Thank you for the hasty response though. Much appreciated, couldn’t have been more than 5 minutes. However, it seems that in your hasty response, you forgot to make sense. Oh well.

@@newlebro because unlike modern music you get a lot more interesting moments just like the one in this video. It’s also a much more sophisticated medium of music (unlike twerking on stage that 80% of pop musicians do or have backup dancers to do). But don’t get me wrong. I love a good band or any kind or a good singer or a good rapper (as long as he/she doesn’t swear all the time). But you get my point. It’s just a much richer experience when people visit orchestras vs any other musical event.

Because this guy is VERY good at the trombone. If you join any amateurish band and listen to most of the trombonists, you'll hear the lament of one thousand gods dying. This dude was CLEAN.

It depends a lot on the situation(venue), the conductor's personality, and the personalities of your co-musicians in the orchestra. As long as it's musically pleasant/accurate, well intended, and most importantly, it doesn't take away from/ interrupt anyone else's sections, then it's usually ok. Edit: Although, it seems to me that there were some other orchestra members who were aware of the bit.
