Mauricio Gonzalez I watched every single episode of that animated series. It was really excellent but incorrectly placed on Disney XD and marketed as a kid’s show. TRON has incredible potential but Disney has never quite understood their own property. TRON has never actually been positioned correctly. It’s amazing that TRON has had the success it has given the way Disney repeatedly sidelines it to other franchises they value more highly.

Yeah, and Legacy was moderately successful. It didn't make all the money but almost half a billion at the box office is still decent. I don't understand why Disney keeps sitting on this franchise.

@@krishacz GOOD NEWS. There was and is a script for Tron 3. The director of Tron Legacy has been very open about a lot of this... Basically, everyone was ready to go but Disney purchased Star Wars from George Lucas in 2012, while Tron 3 was in early development, and Disney decided it was financially in their best interest to focus their money and time on making Star Wars films and completing the Infinity War Saga. Tron 3 was shelved in 2015. Hopefully though, now that Disney has it's own streaming service, they'll consider putting Tron 3 into production since there's still a demand for the property to return with either a movie or limited live action series. In theory, they'll save a lot of money and/or time now not having to print Tron 3 for theaters nor distribute it to multiple locations. Really hope that's enough for them to finally do something good with the property.

“TRON” WAS remastered nearly ten years ago.They scanned the 65mm negatives in 8K and the 35mm elements In 6K. The Blu-Ray is sourced from that master. They just need to give it a touch of Dolby Vision and it would be perfect

ATTENTION OSCAR and THE ACADEMY. Tron deserves an apology and award for best special effects. And another Oscar for advance achievement in special effect technology. They were not even considered cause the academy thought they had cheated using computers. Yet today we give awards to films that use the latest in computer tech. But what gets me is if you take away the computer aspect of this film. What the visual effects department had to go through to give us ONE SECOND of the actors on film is achievement in itself. It's crazy that The Academy should really take a look and give this film an award it deserves. All the people including the man who started it all deserve to be awarded and recognized. I can't think of any other film that deserves an award and apology from the Academy.- Toronto, Canada.

I’m so glad others in the comments are addressing this. I will do my part and join in: for anyone working at Disney, please know that a TRON sequel is very much desired! I absolutely loved the first two, and along with the games, I fell in love with the Tron universe. Still am. But when I heard the sequel is in movie limbo, I was disappointed (but hopeful). My idea: bring back Tron: Legacy’s director, and keep the cast of Sam and Quorra - maybe even have it be more about Quorra. You can change her look and all that. Daft Punk with the music. I think it would be great. Just need a great story and great writing. Add good advertising and merchandising to it, and it should be good.

This is no doubt one of the most underrated sci-fi films if not 1 most underrated films of all time regardless of genre this movie was so way ahead of it's time. The movie predicted social media, hacking, cheating on video games, and the cyber crimes running rampant today. It like how it showed a lot of people's computer ideas have been stolen and how original creators have not been given the proper recognition and credit.

That movie, originally a classic game, appeared in Ralph Breaks The Internet. Then there was Tron Legacy, then a series and now there's the construction of a lightcycle coaster based on them. The 1980's were intergalactic experiences, the golden age of arcade games and the birth of computer animation by five shorts.
