Hi Trond. I love your videos and this one was magical to watch. The story you told with the grey heron hunting, then with the fish in its beak and finally eating it was great. I have a D500 with a 300 PF lens and 1.4 teleconverter. Unfortunately, grey herons are easily spooked where I live in Wales so I have yet to get any photos of one I really like. Your photos are always an inspiration. Thank you 😊

You were lucky, indeed, grey herons are rather shy. They don't like us close, but they seem not to mind a drone buzzing above. I was able to capture this guy catching and swallowing fish with my Mavic Air 2 from just a couple of meters away. Anyway, your video is awesome! Thanks for sharing, I'll be revisiting your channel 👍

Last week I took a picture of a gray heron that had a mouse or a mole in its beak. Unfortunately, despite 600mm, I was too far away and the photo is too blurred. I couldn't get any closer in the open field. It was interesting: Gray herons and great egrets in one field, just about 100m beside the road.
