Have you considered trying out 3D printing so you can replace all those plastic parts the manufacturer won't sell ? I've always been curious if it's actually worth the investment for that.

I've used an old Playstation 2 thumbstick to fix my Xbox 360 controller. Ran into the same situation of the stem being too deep but did what you did and stuck paper and some super glue to keep it from sinking in.

31:30 I assume that grease is for lubrication to help the contacts reduce friction on the carbon pads. I would probably use some non-conductive silicon grease after cleaning it with IPA.

Is there any way to reseat the contactor slider in the sticks without taking it apart? Like holding the stick in the up/down position and slipping a tool in a gap? If that’s possible, you could repair without disassembling and breaking the tabs

You could try using a hot glue gun to attach those metal plates to the plastic housing. If you put a very small, (tweak), blend in the plate prior to gluing, the other locking tabs will assist in holding the plate in place.👍

bro i love watching your videos but what i dont like is how you waste money. youre not making a profit when you buy broken stuff i strongly suggest you take ebay off your list to buy broken items because you paid $75 for each broken item not including the other videos when your paying too much for broken consoles. the prices are mad crazy to pay somebody for their broken device. you need to be making a profit and your time is worth way more than what your paying for them. i recommend you start shopping at pawnshops for broken devices and look for stores that sell returned items. all those broken devices should only be worth $20-$50 to buy each. it trips me out when i hear you paid soo much money for those and they have zero value because you need to fix them which takes up your time and replacement parts and you only sell them for a few bucks bro. come on now.
@TronicsFixLongs8 күн бұрын
I appreciate your comment and that you're trying to help, so thank you for that. Firstly, I didn't buy these from eBay. Secondly, these were a GREAT deal. They sell for $130-$180 or more right now (12/12/2024) used on eBay. That means for a few minutes of my time in fixing each one I can make about $75 each (or more). If I can fix one in 20 minutes (which I easily can) that means I can fix 3 per hour and at $75 in profit for each unit I'd be making $225 per hour. That's a decent hourly rate if you ask me. Thirdly, even though that's a really good hourly rate, that's not even where I make the vast majority of money from my business. I make very significantly more money making videos that people like to watch and putting them on KZbin. This video on my main channel has already made thousands of dollars. Again, I appreciate the sentiment of your comment and that you're trying to help me out. And I'll end with this just for the lol it gave me... "come on now."
