It was a dangerous Sunday morning on Pierce County roads as Washington State Patrol said it's investigating three separate wrong-way, DUI crashes that occurred within less than three hours in Tacoma.
Troopers shared a photo of a head-on crash on State Route 512 that left two people dead around 2 a.m. near Canyon Road and 31st Street. WSP officials said the wrong-way driver, an adult female, and her baby crashed head-on with another vehicle that was occupied by three people. Two of the three occupants in the victim's vehicle died on the scene.
The third was transported with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the WSP. The wrong-way driver was transported with serious injuries was arrested for DUI and faces vehicular homicide charges. The baby was transported with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be OK, according to the WSP.
