This video is super addicting and I love the vibes. Kinda reminds me of the note that Sauron originally wanted to repent at the end of the First Age but instead decided to flee to Middle Earth and continue his plans of domination. Great video!

I've listened to this about 20 times now in 2 days, and I still can't get over how well it's done. Excellent work here, and thank you for it.

I initially thought it would be funny to take one of the only (seemingly) 100% cheerful songs in The Rings of Power soundtrack, and make a quick little Sauron video. Exclamation points started going off in my head the more I noticed that the poem JD wrote sort of outlines Sauron's whole season 1 arc. What was my surprise when, in editing, I wondered what would happen if I kept the original track (Where the Shadows Lie) from the last shot, and ... let's just say the result was a bit unsettling, given that this is how the two songs naturally transition, with a grand total of zero editing. It simply switches from B flat major to B flat (I think) minor. Poppy's unaccompanied, lingering/fading voice perfectly leads the vocals of the Ring theme, then hands the B flat over to horns in such an eerie way, I can't help but wonder what JD and Bear were thinking. Also, the transition between poems is interesting (This Wandering Day to The Ring Poem), if we're considering Sauron's arc. Needless to say, I will probably never hear these songs the same again.

Since Galadriel feels more like the bad guy than Sauron, this song makes me feel bad for Sauron for some reason.

😆Thank you so much! It's funny you should mention Galadriel's Wandering Days, because a while after making this video, I realized something that makes her whole dynamic with Sauron even more unsettling and outright terrifying. It's such a long story, but it changes everything, and I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet (I'm working on outlining it). It has to do with this poem directly. So you have a point! I might actually do that!
