I was able to get all shards in 5 hours. I made sure to avoid all of them until I'd freed up the city of undesirables, then used a map to get all of them. I had drawn lines on the map to separate it into sections and wrote how much each section had, made sure it added up etc And I made regular saves. So there's a right way to do it, but I only took precautions thanks to the internet warning me in advance.

Just the other day I found this notebook and I flipped through it to see if it was used and it wasn’t except for a couple pages that I had used to mark down all the plants I had to collect in red dead 2 and a bunch of other collectibles just so I didn’t miss one and then have to search for years for that 1 plant I needed. There was also a page for sleeping dogs gold medals too.

There should be rule for devs, along the lines of - Rule 203b) If you should put a trophy in the game for collectibles, then you MUST make them trackable in-game.

I Platinum'd the BioShock series. I just played the first game on easy and just took my time getting all of the collectibles. But I agree 100% Make your collectibles trackable
