I love star fruits and sopotes. Never had the black sopote.
@MrSquidish5 жыл бұрын
I had black sapote for the first time a couple of months ago, it's the ugliest fruit ever but....shhhh she doesnt know that lol! its Soooo sweet and has such pleasantly light flavor its delicious.
@Foodie_8885 жыл бұрын
MsMari LOL. It is supposed to be that texture and look just like a chinese date. Only eat them when riped shriveled. I love all sapotes especially the brown sugar tasting ones.
@MrSquidish5 жыл бұрын
I couldnt describe it but I have to say brown sugar is the best way to describe it for sure
@Foodie_8885 жыл бұрын
MsMari There is a brown variety called Chico Sapote, that is my top favorite of sapotes. When ripe, tastes like brown sugar. The chocolate pudding kind of looks like melted tootsie roll texture when ripened. Best tasting fruits are ripened on the tree.

Nice...have most of those...though recently gave up my hybrid Florida Sweet barbados cherry though for a seedless kishu mandarin...it didn't produce heavy in Phx here, as they need an open structure to fruit well here..and mine was just getting too large for the area I had it in, so had to prune it up...

Good info. I was given one without knowing what it was and planted it up against my house with very little space if it needs to get big. Ill move it shortly!

Hi - May I ask if you can suggest some trees that can produce fruits a year or two after it has been planted?

Nice list of fruiting plants with landscape appeal! Do you grow most of these yourself now that you have field stock?

We don't have any Grumichama plants at the moment, but we sell the other plants. Of course we sell mostly mango trees...

My carambola leaves are half yellow half green, how do you make your leaves so green? I heard it was a soil acidity issue, but not too sure
@MrJoshcc6006 жыл бұрын
I have most these now b except the jabatocaba. I really want one but read it takes 8 years to fruit and I'll hopefully move to a bigger yard by then.

Jaboticaba is a beautiful tree and unique fruit!

Chris I have an acerola cherry planted out that's probably about 6 feet tall now and plenty bushy. It's been flowering for a few years now but only sporadically and sparsely with hardly any notable fruit set. Any idea why this might be the case or what I could try to get it fruiting?
@TrulyTropical7 жыл бұрын
Sorry... I don't know why you haven't gotten fruit. Is it a seedling, or was it airlayered? If it's a seedling, flowering should improve as it gets older. Maybe a viewer has some helpful advice?
@zaframiriam30387 жыл бұрын
It's a seedling, so right maybe it needs to mature more. In the meantime, its made a lovely home for several different birds and their offspring! :)

My seedling Barbados trees are same. Hope next year it would do better.

I started with just 1. It's now 5 years old and has many many babies even growing in the gutter on my neighbors house because the squirrels and rats take them. I don't even water the thing it's a great plant covers my fence. Watch out though it wants to grow strait up so it will prefer your roof or a nearby tree you gotta train it to go anywhere else. Also note it only grows fruit on new growth so stop trimming the new shoots just redirect them.

Where do you buy your seeds from?
@TrulyTropical6 жыл бұрын
We don't buy seeds. All our seeds come from the fruit we grow at the farm.

two different types of jackfruit? how can I tell?
@MrJoshcc6006 жыл бұрын
There are actually lots of different jackfruit variety. Flavors change as well from sweet bubblegum to earthly to honey or pineapple.
@manoyski35553 жыл бұрын
I have 3 different varieties of jackfruit. Used to have 4, the wet variety nobody wanted so I cut it down. Also had a red but someone in my house said our yard is already full of jackfruit so it stayed in the pot.

What kind of camera do you use to record videos?
@TrulyTropical7 жыл бұрын
Most of our videos were shot with an I-Phone. Walking videos were shot with GoPro. Recently we bought a Canon XA10. It came with a mic which has had much better quality than the other mics we used.
