Tropical Storm threat continues around Central America

Areas of interest could develop into tropical cyclones on either side of Mexico, with the highest chance belonging to an area of disturbed weather in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. These thunderstorms are expected to move westwards, and could transform into a tropical cyclone late this week or over the weekend off the coast of Guerrero, Mexico.
At the weekend, another tropical cyclone could form near the Yucatan Channel as it enters the Gulf of Mexico, and move northwestwards towards the United States Gulf Coast.
Regardless of development, it's going to be a very wet period across the whole region, with totals of 800mm possible in parts of Guatemala and El Salvador, and over 300mm (12 inches) possible in many parts of eastern Mexico, western Cuba, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi into next week.

JMA says so (they don't use the subtropical classification for whatever reason), JTWC calls it a subtropical storm

@@TH-ot8wt Huh, I wonder why they didn't even put it at TD/SD status. Maybe the Force 13 team at the time interpreted it as a frontal low (bc it formed just south of a stationary front)? I assume they changed their analysis in the years since then
