I loved the garden. I assume many of the shrubs commonly used in Italy would not thrive in this climate. It would be very helpful to know what the types this gardener used instead.

The pruned shrubs are Thuja and Taxus, you can grow Cupressus sempervirens in the Netherlands, but it's tricky!
