I am so impressed with how well your pups are doing! And delighted to see that you do the same thing we do when going out the door - you go first, while the dogs are on a sit-stay (in our family, it's "Wait") until you tell them they can come down and out! Well done, and so much safer for everyone!

Another tip. Turn your vehicle hvac to the off position. This causes the fresh air door to close and prevents rodents from entering the hvac compartment. It happened to a neighbor (dead mice). Had to tear the dash apart. Nasty!!!

A quick comment about locking your trailer hitch... You did a good thing stopping and doing it before leaving for the day. My advice is always do this no matter where you are! We showed up to our locked, fenced, secure storage yard only to find someone had tried to steal our Rpod. The only thing that made it difficult enough to sway them from continuing the attempt while being on security cameras was that hitch lock. Come to find out that Rpods and Mini Winnies are in huge demand among thieves. One better solution is to apply a wheel lock to the trailer for extra security.

The worst thing about RVing is RV parks. That's why we don't stay in them unless absolutely necessary. Sonoita is a great area. That's my home country - Cochise County, AZ. Glad you enjoyed it.

We have encountered piles of dog poop everywhere we have camped--even well-groomed RV parks with signs saying they have cameras & will enforce "poop scoop rules". (From the look of the campground, they obviously don't. It gets pretty disgusting in some places. But if folks have an issue, they need to first make sure the dog owner actually failed to scoop. We have 2 small dogs also, and have offered poop bags when we have seen others walk off without scooping. Most folks accept them graciously. Thank you for being responsible dog owners & good neighbors. We really enjoy your channel and now can't wait to see you & your fellow competitors on RV Unplugged every week!

Moved to Arizona in 1969 when I was 10 years old. We live closer to the Phoenix area on 4 acres in the desert. The Pak Rats will definitely chew the wires in your truck, food or no food. We have lived on our property for 32 years, 2 years ago was the first time the rodents got up in a car and chewed the wires in one of our cars. I put a system that senses tiny movements, it has a light the strobes and a high pitch frequency sound that deters them. I enjoy your videos very much

I think it will be a challenge to feed both dogs from one bowl. The dominant dog may eat the other's portion. It will also be tough to measure and control individual apportionments as they mature.

Two things. Thanks for the detailed video of unhooking. That was really informative. Second thing. Mice are not the only thing that will take up residence. When I was a kid we were coming back from a camping trip. Stopped to get gas (this is when they checked your oil and pumped your gas for you and gas was about 29 cents a gallon) the attendant asks Dad to pop the hood. The kid went to check the oil and jumped back. There was a rattlesnake that took op residence on top of the air filter. Be careful.
@joanies6778 Жыл бұрын
That scares the hell out of me! 😱 He knows where the rodents go... looking for his next meal! Thinking about a possible winter trip, I've been doing a lot of online research to see what deters both snakes and rats. Ammonia is good to repel snakes, peppermint oil for rats. However, bright flashing lights and a vibrating, high pitch sound device is what I plan to get. They do sell usb rechargeable motion activated or timed units, so that's ideal. I plan 2 in the engine and one close to the rear section. Otherwise, I would have nightmares worried about either one crawling through a hole from below! 😱

Mice and other rodents are attracted to the wrapped wiring system in vehicles were told that soy is used in the manufacture of the wrapping but it was damaged enough that we had to be towed. We learned this the hard way via $2000 repair bill after our wiring was eaten. We live in Palm Desert, CA and it is a very common problem in the desert.
@rjay7019 Жыл бұрын
That happens a lot here in West Texas maybe you need a couple of cat's ? They are constantly getting into our vehicles. We strung up flashing Christmas lights and that seems to help a little. We also have ground squirrels that do it too.

Potty training (or any kind of obedience training) a puppy is always easier when you have an older trained dog that they can learn from as the older dog kind of leads by example. BTW, the "hunting group" you saw was probably a hunting/sporting dog training certification "hunt test". It's where dog owners and trainers bring their sporting dogs to run through certain judged drills to accomplish AKC or UKC certifications for levels of training. If you had a couple of hours to observe on the day they were "running the test", it's actually fun and interesting to see the dogs going through the drills/training sets.

Good morning, the proper pronunciation of the meat packers is "cheer-a-cowa", I assume it is named after the mountain range where Cochise held out against the US army; known as Cochise's stronghold. Look it up, I hauled dynamite in that area for seismagraph crews in the late 70's, lot of history in that area.
