My husband had the honor of graduating from the AF Academy. He went on to fly F-15’s. He retired after twenty years with the AF as a Lt. Colonel. One of his assignments was in Iceland. His squadron would “accompany” Soviet fighter jets as they toyed with our air space. It was during the the Cold War and the Soviet Union thought their old rickety jets were a match for our very superior fighter jets. His last mission was into the Mideast. Things were heating up there but America just wanted them to know we were keeping an eye on them. This was during end of 70’s into the mid 90’s. Went on to become a Captain with a Commercial Airline. And now we are both retired. He loved his aviation career.

The F-4 you sat in was Col. Olds’ airplane in Vietnam. He was was an American fighter pilot and promoted to general officer in the United States Air Force (USAF). He was a "triple ace", with a combined total of 17 victories in World War II and the Vietnam War.[2] He retired in 1973 as a brigadier general, after 30 years of service. Olds had a highly publicized career and life, including marriage to Hollywood actress Ella Raines. This week at Langley Air Force Base we dedicate a building in his honor with his daughter in attendance.

My Great-Uncle Willis, a farmer at Iron Mountain, Michigan, used to shut the engine off on his 1959 Ford pickup truck whenever going down a hill to save gasoline! With the standard transmission, it was simple to restart the engine while rolling along! He did this constantly while driving! I don't think folks today know about this gasoline saving "secret" LOL!!

I will just share this. I have a little background in aviation. David you were exactly right with your comment about the Black Widow!. Please people don't wet your pants from what I'm about to say😂. The YF-23 is still to this date the greatest fighter jet ever built!!!!!. The Raptor is the most dominant fighter in the SKY hands down but it is our current Air Superiority fighter because people in congress got some weight dropped in their pockets. Head to head in every category the 23 outperformed the 22..😮

When I worked as a County Clerk Archivist, we had what are recorded as Cemetery Deeds. Property owners would petition and deed specific portion for cemetery use. Most of the appropriated property was an acre or more located near a dedicated road way. In Oregon all cemeteries are inventoried every 10 years, including Indigenous People who occupy them.

For anyone thinking about going to Sandusky Ohio to Cedar Point and don't have a ton of money to spend on camping, there are some nice campgrounds about 10 minutes away from the park . That is what we ended up doing, it allowed us more money to spend at the theme park. If you like the convenience of being on site well this would be your option. If you haven't already, put some wax on that windshield and use Rain-x washer fluid. I find it clears off a lot more bug splatters.

You were about 2 miles away from me at the WPAFB Air Force Museum. I see those planes fly over daily. Rumor around the base is blg. 16's basement is where the aliens were stored after their ship crashed. 😂 Der Dutchman Is where my family meets from various locations in Ohio. They do have great pie! I would have definitely loved to have met up with you two, but I'm glad you enjoyed our state. ❤

New follower just saw this vlog today this is something simple hubby and I use to keep the flys May flys love bugs and skeeters away Lemon dish soap can be used to make a DIY love bug repellent spray: Ingredients: Mix 1 cup of water with 3 tablespoons of citrus dish soap and 3 tablespoons of mouthwash Application: Spray the mixture on plants, walls, and other affected areas every 4 or 5 days

I lived in NE Indiana and visited Cedar Point every year. Haven’t been back for over 20 years, but with the exception of newer roller coasters, it looked the same. My father was a navigator on a B-17…same as the Memphis Belle. He crash landed (and survived) in England on his 23rd mission upon return from a bombing mission in Germany. I visited the museum in Dayton 7 years ago as part of a reunion on his squadron (306th in Thurleigh, England). Thanks for the memories
@bigtruckbigtravels7 ай бұрын
Cedar Point is almost the same but with a few added coasters from several years ago. This B-17s had quite the mission profile and its amazing more were not shot down. Thank you.
