Have you tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal and connecting back up to see if that clears the fault. I have seen a few videos with people doing this. Would be a shame to miss out on your Spain trip.

Thanks i have an obd 2 so ive cleared the fault .trying some cleaner next .👍🏻😊
