"Run to the Light," originally released by Metal Blade Records on July 15, 1987, is the third studio album by doom metal legends Trouble. Metal Blade Records has proudly reissued the quintessential classic on CD, vinyl and digitally. The CD and digital release features three previously unreleased demos -"The Misery Shows,” “Thinking of the Past and “Run to the Light,” along with a cover of the Beatles classic “Come Together,” previously available on the “Best of Metal Blade Vol.2 (1987).
Guitarist Bruce Franklin had this to say about the re-release; "Run to the Light was long overdue for a re-release. So, since it took 35 years, we thought remastering and some bonus tracks were in order. The first bonus track is a cover version of The Beatles ‘Come Together," which was recorded during the Run to the Light album sessions. It previously was only available on a Best of Metal Blade compilation. The other bonus tracks are from a 1986 demo of 3 songs that would end up being prominent titles on the actual Run to the Light album, recorded in 1987. Throw in a bunch of not-seen-before tour pictures from the 1987 tour with King Diamond and you have a new repackaging of Run to the Light with plenty of extras for Trouble fans."

So disappointed. One of my fave albums but this remaster does nothing to correct the unfortunate, dull and distant sound of the original. Was really hoping this and The Skull remasters were gonna bring them to life like they deserved from day one. I'm blaming Metal Blade for this one as they clearly have no investment in promoting a band and an album not on their current roster so probably just phoned this one in. Wishing Bruce had put his foot down and said no but maybe they own the rights to it and this was his only option Hammerheart records did the remasters of 4 other albums (#s 1,2, 4 & 5) and I just ordered 2 of them as apparently they sound killer. Fingers crossed

This album needs more than a remaster - it needs an entire remix all together. This of course takes lot of time and effort... but, I think it would have been worthwhile. Production issues aside, this album has some great songs, perhaps some of their best even. Its just a shame they never got around to a good remix and unfortunately it seems you are correct in terms of Metal Blade's lack of interest in that regard.

The Hammerheart remasters have excessive compression, stick to original CD and record releases for the best sound.
