I love the balance of art and humor here! I see TMBG influence

Thank you! I initially wanted no humor at all, but when you put a camera on me and Dave I'm going to start acting goofy.

THIS IS SO GOOD AHHH At one part of the filming of this (not in the video haha), Jordan laid under the car and he accidentally scared a big fluffy dog that was being walked at like 2am 😅

Great stuff man! Definitely hear the TMBG in your stuff.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm not going to lie though, that genuinely surprises me. TMBG were not at all an influence on this particular album, except perhaps that I did send my mastering guy John Henry as a reference to try to achieve a warm, full, guitar-driven "analog" sound in the final steps. I suppose they snuck in somewhere...

@@jordancooperlalala Well, I don't listen to much TMBG - maybe it's the vocal aesthetic. I know you're a big TMBG guy though. Sounds great.

@@turnsout5061 Thank you!! That really means a lot to me. I'm dying for people to hear this thing. I hope you check out the full album! It's really short! On Spotify, youtube, iTunes, or here: troublesafoot.bandcamp.com/album/woke-up-dark

@@turnsout5061 NO WAY. Well Frank Black and the Catholics was actually more an inspiration for the album than TMBG! I played the first Catholics album over and over when me and my friend recorded guitars! We were trying to analyze how to make an album that's both guitar heavy but also drum heavy, with upfront vocals...basically everything up front like it is on that album. REALLY HARD!
