Thanks for the info. In fact I try first with anisotropic filtering at 16 setting, because it does make a difference regarding the sharpness of textures in distance. The multiple shadow settings in Cyberpunk 2077 are baffling and new to me. Will maybe tinker a little bit with it. Could be that the RED engine has a special outstanding feature distinguishing it from Unreal and Frostbite. Will be interesting to see how this turns out in the future. I believe spooky scenes may benefit a lot from great shadows.

Anisotropic filtering makes textures blurry in the distance if you set it up too low, but it has no real impact on performance so 8 or 16 is ok for any rig

I tested the cascaded shadows resolution and it didnt affect my fps at all for me. Using a 2080 ti. And yeah anisotropic filtering never impacts performance in any game, so dunno why you said that at first.

i have the 1660 ti and you just have to play a little with the setting have the game in 60 sometimes dropping to 55., but is a reality that the game at least for me is not that optimized, gotta wait for a patch i hope soon.

I don’t know much about this stuff, but I took all your advice before starting and I haven’t had a SINGLE drop in frame rate. Cascaded never really dropped my frames, screen space reflections and ambient occlusion on the other hand, is the culprit.

@@ТониРаут-с2ц Cascaded shadows from high to medium gives free FPS , and also I use Ambient occlusion to medium, which gives like 5-7 FPS average. There is a tweak released on nexusmode, you can google it, it helps with 9xx and 10xx series cards, so you can win another 15-20 FPS. Welcome ;)

yea im not surprised as his nvidia profile settings literally turn off things like AF and other important graphical features entirely. You didnt just set settings to low, he had you literally turn off graphics in the game. Issue i have with this is now you are literally not seeing the graphics or game as the devs intended and are literally missing some of these graphics.

NVIDIA Control Panel: Image Sharpening should be turned ON if you are using DLSS. It will improve visual quality noticeably. Leaving it at 0.50 and 0.17 are fine.

Now I don't dig below 35 fps in the same areas, and get a solid 50-60 fps in less crowded areas. I run a RTX 2070 Super just in case anyone wondered. Hi Ariel b, i have 1440p monitor, running on a evga 2080ti FTW and an i7-9700K. I would like to share my settings with you for a 70+ FPS experience, with NO RT, but also NO DLSS. Starting from the top: -FOV: 90 -All basic effects are off, because they are bling and i hate them. Personal preference. (film grain to motion blur) -contact shadow: OFF -Improved facial lighting geometry: ON -Anisotropy: 16 -Local shadows mesh quality: Medium -local shadow quality: Medium -Cascade shadow range: Medium -Cascade shadow resolution: Medium -Distant shadow resolution: high -Volumetric fog resolution: High -Volumetric cloud quality: High -Max dynamic decal: High -Screen space reflections quality: high -Subsurface scattering quality: high -Ambient occlusion: Medium -Colour precision: High -Mirror quality: High -Level of Detail: High Ray tracing Off unfortunately, because it tanks the FPS to 49 with DLSS quality or medium. No DLSS. This is important to me because i don't experience the grainy shit that upscaling causes is bad. I have a 32 " monitor and i see it clearly. If i had a smaller 1440p monitor, maybe it would not have been as bad... but on my screen i can see it. One additional setting is crowd density... i have it on high. i get a solid 70+ fps... goes up to 80-100 indoors... and outside fights can dip to mid 60's. But that is as bad as it gets. Based on my observation, i see no major loss in fidelity, asides for course from the loss of RT reflections which are so god damn pretty... but they are so expensive to run.

Even RDR2 ran 50 fps with medium-high settings on 1440p with my 1070. However, cyberpunk doesnt even get stable 40 fps on lowest 1440p! Game mode ON! IMO Microsoft added better handling of apps like OBS and actually optimized operation for recording apps like OBS, so you lose performance if you turn it off. As of March 2019, as long as you're running 1809 or higher and have the latest Windows updates installed, it is now recommended to leave Game Mode enabled Look into running OBS with admin on/off with the game mode enabled. OBS>Admin = GPU Accel OFF and vise versa. Again, TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST!!!! If you guys don't do that, then don't bother turning your PC on at all. Oh, and great video actually explaining the game's graphics and side of things in which most people don't even bother. It's one of the most crucial elements to streaming and playing the game.

DLSS settings for PC is a life saver, having the highest graphics possible I was running the game at around or below 10fps, UNTIL I turned on DLSS to either auto, quality, or balanced, this now boosted my frames to 40fps, highly recommend this setting being turned on, coz I can now run both reytracing on the “psycho” setting, AND same for every other settings being quite literally, the highest possible, and it looks AND runs fantastic !

tbh the rtx 2060 isn’t a good ray tracing card to begin with, you’re bound to get under 60fps on most games with ray tracing on with it

Rtx 2060 and ryzen 2600x user here, try enabling the static fidelityfx cas option. I'm not using fraps, but I can tell you that the game went from unplayable to very playable when I enabled it, running most settings on medium, some low. Another big one is reducing crowd density, it's in the gameplay options tab. Hope this helps somebody.

@LittleKingRyan Yeah, you'd think, but it's still there with vsync disabled and running 80-100+fps. Radeon Anti-Lag and enhanced sync changes how it feels, but doesn't eliminate it. Feels like a mouse/camera smoothing setting is screwed up. It's not unplayable once you get used to it, but it's annoying. Maybe there's a raw input mode that can be enabled in a .cfg file.

Haven’t tested it out for my self but see if it works for you guys. 1h There is an option that looks like it belongs to 3rd Person camera settings for controller called response curve. Seems to be for every input method and not only for controller. I didnt find this at first and it made firefights so frustrating... Set it to "Raw" and youre good to go.

Same specs except I have a 1060 6GB. It runs at 30-40 FPS in mixed low/medium/high. Make sure you have dual channel ram though. At single channel you'll get 20 FPS.

lol no way homie. that fx chip is your MAJOR flaw right now in games my friend. i switched from a fx9590 that was oc to 5.3 YEARS ago and it was insane how bad those fx chips are. did you get your money from the class action lawsuit? it was 30$ for each fx chip you bought and u needed no proof just to sign and claim how many up to 4 i think w out proof

I am glad I can get it to run at 60fps on my 1070 and it still look and run decent :D I do laugh at the comments of people complaining about not getting it higher than 60 dang after using a 144hz monitor for so long its understandable but playing at 60 is tenfold better than running at 30, thank you for the very detailed optimization guide.

Leave him a like, this is the best route to go for now. the game is very unoptimized and will be fixed. For now, this guy has the best info you'll get whether it helps or not. If your game won't open, restore the nvida settings and change them one by one to see what's causing the problem, all rigs are built different so this may not work for you. If you don't see the graphics scheduling in windows, update your windows to the newest version.

Disable Game Mode --> NEVER DO THAT!! just this option alone gave me 4 fps more... it may not seem much but going from from 26 fps to 30 fps is basically heaven!

High performance mode in the Nvidia control panel isn't worth it in any scenario. The default mode uses all of the power you'll need and saves power and resources by reusing frames if nothing is occurring on-screen. Nvidia recommends you use high performance only if you're have critical issues that would otherwise prevent programs from running.

ATTENTION! Ultimate Power Mode does NOT give you better performance and puts your components at risk when using it (it was said by multiple Microsoft employees it's only meant for servers and it's not recommended for gaming and especially for laptop users as it draws so much power from your battery that it can kill it) Also the "Maximum performance" power management mode doesn't do anything and most of the things people want you to change in the Nvidia control panel to get "better performance" aren't going to help as Nvidia control panel's default settings are for gamers, by gamers (more info on most "Nvidia control panel settings explained" videos)

Guys listen, I'm still relative new to PC master race but something that worked for me was "optimizing" the game using GeForce Experience. After that I simply turned RTX Off and set DLSS to Quality and the game now plays at 1440p in Ultra settings and fps stay 60-80fps. On indoors it goes up to 90-100fps. I'm using a RTX 2060super + Ryzen5 3600

Thanks for the guide, for me it is working. With a GTX 1080 and i9 7770 I am having between 50 to 70 FPS, most of shadows on Medium, the rest high. Dynamic Fidelity FX target 80 for resolution and 60 FPS. It is very enjoyable and good graphic quality overall. Resolution full screen 2560x1440, g-sync and the above mentioned Dynamic Fidelity FX. I have the game installed on a M.2 SSD.

Great vid, I followed your settings and I'm getting between 57 - 65fps 1440p running on a gtx 1080ti on high to medium settings.1 extra Tip for getting more fps. Go into settings and turn down crowd density to medium by default its on high, just by doing this I got an extra 12fps. Hope this helps....

I really hope that CDPR pushes out a graphics update. I have a 2060 super and cant even get above 80 fps. I'm thinking that they will definitely fix this as well as the glitches and freezing while playing. Once they push that update out, things might be better.WE all just gotta hang in there

I have slightly different findings regarding the graphics settings. Am on a 1080ti as well. For reference, im playing at 4k: - The texture quality indeed only affects vram usage. Set to high - The "basic" settings like motion blur etc. dont affect fps, personal preference only - Anisotropy affects fps a little, lowering it can boost fps by a couple of frames (~3). Set to 1 or 4 - Turning down all the shadow settings from medium to low only brings you 1 - 2 fps. Keep all on medium - Turning down volumetric fog & cloud quality from medium to low brings 3 fps. Would recommend low - didnt really test max dynamic decals, i suggest medium - screen space reflexions are THE performance killer but also look great. This option alone between min and max setting brings well over 20 fps. Off is ugly, medium is a good compromise, but i personally wanted more than 30 fps total so i had to set this setting to low - subsurface scattering medium - ambient occlusion also affects fps a little. low is sufficient, turn it off (like i did) if you need that 2 - 3 extra fps - high color precision demands 3 fps. Keep it at high if you dont need the 3 fps. I did need them and didnt see noticable banding, though i am playing with hdr enabled and dont know how that affects the situation of banding since the color space is greater here - mirror quality medium - level of detail medium - resolution ofc personal preference, i wanted 4k, lower res will ofc bring you massively more fps but sacrifice fidelity - vsync only enable if you can handle the input lag to avoid tearing - hdr doesnt affect performance, keep it on if you have an hdr capable display (like my lg oled c9, flex)

i've done everything you said in the video, i've got no performance issues game runs smooth with no fps drops BUT KEEEPS CRASHING no matter what i do, sometimes i can play for 5 mins sometime i can play 30 mins and it just crashes, i've got the steam version and yes i checked all the local files, redownloaded the game, bypassed the launcher and launched it straight from the bin and nothing worked.
