I have everything but the important one “Saved” did I miss a step? I never made a server on steam but I bought the game on there. I downloaded the searched server in steam. Then skipped the Xbox download part because I didn’t know if it was relevant. And went straight to “configuring server” but I can’t copy and move “default palworld settings. Ini” because after I open “Pal” there’s no “saved” to put them in. Trying to be detailed.

I know this is late but you can go into CMD, change the fild directory to the palworld server folder the command is (cd -filepath-)then run this command steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +app_update 2394010 +quit

When I following the steps and running start.bat for the first time (as the video does at 3:56), I get the error that "Windows cannot find 'PalServer.exe" - any advice appreciated

there is already a file called PalworldSettings so I cant change the DefaultPalWorldSetiings to PalWorldSettings am I supposed to replace it?

i have followed several different videos showing pretty much the same thing and none of them actually show how to use an xbox to connect to the server. this was of no help!!!!!

I had trouble finding my server on Xbox. The thing I needed to do was create a shortcut of the Palworld sever application on the desktop. Open the properties of that and under target you need to add -public lobby. With a space before the dash. So then end of that long text where is says target needs to end like …PalServer.exe -publiclobby

This works but why doesnt the server show up so that XBOX players Can see it in Community Server list.....makes no sense (This is a FREE PC ONLY) Guide Xbox doesnt have ip address entry but I think you knew that.....

every time I run start.bat it gives the error "Windows cannot find 'PalServer.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again" the logs say "failed to apply update, reverting... " then it says " ! ! ! Fatal Error: Failed to load steam.dll" then it says "launching server" and then the last line says " The system cannot find the path specified." I tried making a folder called PalServer in my steamapps/common and in the same folder as start.bat and neither have worked. Please respond soon me and my brother were very excited to play Palworld together especially me since I've played it before and wanted to show him the game.

Mainly stuck on the start . bat file not opening through the steam . cmd instead wanting to only open through the windows cmd. Tried everything I can think of to get it to open through the steam cmd

This guide was almost perfect... missed a singled step in the start.bat file... Should add -publiclobby in and everything should work fine on Xbox

Server gets up and running fine. But as soon as more than 4 players join, the game crashes for anyone over the 4th player. Dedicated server on game pass seems to enforce the 4 player limit. Any solutions?

You need at least 2gb of RAM per player, on top of the ram being used to render the world. So 32gb is the realistic minimum.

Helpful video but I don’t see how realistic it is to keep your cpu on 24/7 so that your friends can play on the server without you. Which is what I feel is the whole point of dedicated servers. Otherwise we would just all play on a local server and invite our friends to join every time we play.

the problem is that the co-op is just 4 players, the server its up 32 players

This is mainly for people that have the disposable hardware to dedicate to that purpose and those that aren't billed overages for bandwidth by their ISP. Back in the quake days not such a problem but now you have people like comcast that will monitor for these kind of servers and throttle or prevent it from connecting. Worst case is bill you extra internet usage charges.

the game version on my server differs from the xbox gamepass version would this cause any connectivity issues because i currently cannot connect to server on my pc or xbox. lmk if anyone has had a similar problem and if there are any fixes.

Obviously you didn't try by yourself or you'll know that its impossible to run command on gamepass version of the game... you also don't explain how xbox player can join the server ...

you can run commands through an RCON if you have admin rights

I still cant join thru my public ip address. Dont know if it is a port forwarding issue because i can hose a valheim dedicated server no issue

I joined the EU community server and it was running at 10fps and super laggy and stuttery, is this the case on all servers?

I using a hosted server which has rtt of 90 ms and 60 fps. That being said it desyncs non stop after playing on it for 5 hours.
