so I did the port forwarding steps and when I launch PalServer it lists this about 8 times before it says its running the server: bind couldn't find an open port between 27015 and 27015, What does this mean and do I need to fix something?

I have everything but the important one “Saved” did I miss a step? I never made a server on steam but I bought the game on there. I downloaded the searched server in steam. Then skipped the Xbox download part because I didn’t know if it was relevant. And went straight to “configuring server” but I can’t copy and move “default palworld settings. Ini” because after I open “Pal” there’s no “saved” to put them in. Trying to be detailed.

I know this is late but you can go into CMD, change the fild directory to the palworld server folder the command is (cd -filepath-)then run this command steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +app_update 2394010 +quit

Still can't quite figure out how to get this to work through a Palworld installed through the Microsoft Store. Mainly stuck on the start . bat file not opening through the steam . cmd instead wanting to only open through the windows cmd. Tried everything I can think of to get it to open through the steam cmd

You have to use CMD to set the file path, and then start the bat file from within the cmd. in cmd type "cd path/to/steamcmd" and then run the start bat file command. Replace "path/to/steamcmd" with the actual path where its located on your pc

Server gets up and running fine. But as soon as more than 4 players join, the game crashes for anyone over the 4th player. Dedicated server on game pass seems to enforce the 4 player limit. Any solutions?

You need at least 2gb of RAM per player, on top of the ram being used to render the world. So 32gb is the realistic minimum.

I joined the EU community server and it was running at 10fps and super laggy and stuttery, is this the case on all servers?

I using a hosted server which has rtt of 90 ms and 60 fps. That being said it desyncs non stop after playing on it for 5 hours.

every time I run start.bat it gives the error "Windows cannot find 'PalServer.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again" the logs say "failed to apply update, reverting... " then it says " ! ! ! Fatal Error: Failed to load steam.dll" then it says "launching server" and then the last line says " The system cannot find the path specified." I tried making a folder called PalServer in my steamapps/common and in the same folder as start.bat and neither have worked. Please respond soon me and my brother were very excited to play Palworld together especially me since I've played it before and wanted to show him the game.

Helpful video but I don’t see how realistic it is to keep your cpu on 24/7 so that your friends can play on the server without you. Which is what I feel is the whole point of dedicated servers. Otherwise we would just all play on a local server and invite our friends to join every time we play.

This is mainly for people that have the disposable hardware to dedicate to that purpose and those that aren't billed overages for bandwidth by their ISP. Back in the quake days not such a problem but now you have people like comcast that will monitor for these kind of servers and throttle or prevent it from connecting. Worst case is bill you extra internet usage charges.
