Troubleshooting MPEM On A Seadoo With No Spark

I have a 1997 Polaris, SL 700 no spark, but if I press and hold the bilge pump button while starting I’ll have spark any idea what this could be?

Keep an eye out in the next week or so. I haven't had time to work on the Seadoos, because I'm trying to fix the outdrive on my boat. I might have time this weekend to work on it.

@@YouGotItGiyl where did you find the info to trouble shoot the mpem? I have a 1997 challenger seadoo boat that will start and then after a few minutes it will die then it won't even click or turn over. I'm not sure what is the problem. I have to wait a while then it might start back up. Any help is appreciated.

My 98 seadoo gsi blow 5 amp fuse every time any help.? Please. No crank. Nothing just blow fuse all time

Very first connection, my multimeter reads about .5 ohms. What is this telling me is bad?

My 998 gtx Ltd was the cdi unit in the mpem...had to replace it

so you found out that the mpem end was no good? Is this a Dess system? if it is when you change the mpem do you have to reprogram the key?

Yes, the MPEM was no good. This is not a DESS system so I didn't need a new key or reprogram. I'm not sure if you need to get a new key after a reprogram.

when you buy an aftermarket mpem the dess is not activated so any key will start it ,to activate the dess you need to buy a programmer for the mpem

hey I will be hope be making and uploading a video on my jet ski and what I am fixing couple different things, but I was wondering if you will be making any update videos and maybe a walk around of your jet ski and I accutally would like if you could get a shot of the rear jet impeller system outside on the bottom of the unit there are 3 bolts connecting the steering top, steering, and bottom... I need a shot of the bottom bolt I think I am missing something and I would like to know what it looks like and possibly if you know what the part is called it goes on the bottom bolt looks like there may have been an washer or bushig guide of some type kinda long oval pill shape..... thanks if you can

+You Got It Giyl cool thanks subscribe to me as well n ill try to get a video up ASAP i told i needed a new wire harness from the owner so bought a wholr fuse box with wires from a 95 gts the ecu looks like the one in your box but looked at mine and it was a little different and couldn't get it to work with out trying my old box so i hooked up the old box got me seadoo crank but no start and i check the plugs doesnt seem like im getting spark so next i guess ill be trying the ignition coil then ecu last hopefully i dont have to spend any more money 😑
