I had been out riding when my fans started to glitch out. They were trying to start and were having a hard time.
I was in stop and go traffic when the temp light came on, so I pulled over and let it cool down.
(I still ride as long as it is cool, and I can keep moving and the moto stays around 160 degrees. Seems to be just fine as the fans aren't needed until it hits 216 degrees).
But I finally got some time to trouble shoot the system.
To this point I found the fans weren't burnt out and I checked the radiator cap for potential damage, which it had none. Had just had the mechanic change out the starter so he changed out the radiator fluid as well.
I tried looking up videos that would show someone trouble shooting the electrical parts, but only found GXSR and an R6 one that didn't show them putting a meter on anything, so I went to making this video.
Now, once i get the relay and if it doesn't work, I'll have to check other parts which I'll make a video of that. But if that's the main issue, then we're good to go, and I'm pretty sure that's the problem.
I hope this helps anyone needing to troubleshoot the electrical and how to do it with a meter to insure you get the readings you're looking for. It's a process of elimination.
You can Ohm out a connector, by seeing a huge difference in ohm reading from one side to the other to see if it's bad. You will not get a power reading on the right fan without the temp sensor closing to give that power send to the other side, because the fans are wired in series and not parallel from what I am seeing. If you have another person, you can put a meter to the right-side power connector and make the jump and you should get a voltage reading than.
In any case, this is what I have for now, so I hope it helps.
Remember, be vigilant and practice.
