We decided it was a good time to escape FL since we couldn't help any of our friends on the barrier islands since the bridges were closed (such devastation from Helene) so we drove 9 hours to Helen GA, a Bavarian-style town, for Oktoberfest. We had 5 great days of temps in the 70s which is better than 100°. We climned a mountain straight up 1/2 mile in the Chatahoochie National Forest to see Anna Ruby Falls. We did really good, considering we are "flat-landers" and made it to the top to the beautiful waterfalls. Amazing! Lots of mossy rocks along our way and extremely tall trees! I put a video on my YT channel and I think it is under the "shorts" tab. I also brought my bike along and did a trail of about 10 miles, and I rode the Georgia Mountain Coaster also. We are home "detoxing" from all the Bratwurst and beverages. I enjoyed your video! Interesting!

@@HikerT Made it thru Milton. Our shutters did a good job again. Lost three trees. Electricity out for 24 hours only. Neighborhood looks a mess, SO many huge oak trees down, fences, roofs. Our roof held. Cat 3 right over us. The eye was eerily quiet, then all heck broke loose on the backside of the hurricane. We are a lot luckier than some areas! No flooding. Just wind & stuff hitting the house all night! Gotta love Mother Nature.

@@kathryngarcia8800 Sounds like a lot of clean up work, but I'm so glad you're safe! We can get volcanos and earthquakes here but disastrous ones don't even happen annually. I can't imagine getting hit by hurricane after hurricane every season. My nerves would be shot.
