Trout fishing in the LAND OF THE GIANTS- Steinhatchee fl

My buddy Major and I went trout fishing in Steinhatchee FL, and man was the bite HOT! We were able to catch multiple Trout over 20 inches, and were only fishing in Steinhatchee for a handful of hours. Spotted a MONSTER Trout as we were leaving, and were also able to catch some Redfish inshore as well.

Heading there this Thursday AM for a 3 dayer. Hopefully the weather will allow us to fish! Looks like they had some major weather the past few days. How does that affect the fishing there. Do the fish move out farther or do they stay shallow?

I hope you get a few good days in! We did get some major rain so the water MAY be a little dirty and there was a big water temperature change recently as well. I'd hit some of the deeper cuts off the flats/creeks and if that doesn't produce just stick to the grass flats in 2-5ft of water. Good luck!!!

I just moved to north FL and i really want to go fish out in steinhatchee but I have no idea where to go. Can you give me some pointers plz I would really appreciate it.

Welcome to the area! Steinhatchee is a wonderful place to fish! You really can't go wrong north or south, but my advice is to go on Google Maps and look for the shallow grass flats around the coastal creek mouths. These typically hold some good trout year round and the Redfish tend to be in the grass flats on low tide and will push near the shorelines/oyster beds at high tide!

@@NickeeGee this is great advice. I have some coordinates for some reefs out there that I haven't tried out yet maybe in a couple weeks I'll go out after changing the anodes and all that good stuff. Maybe I'll see you out there one day you never know. Be safe.
