I lived just outside of Calico Rock and it was so easy to go catch 5 trout, whenever you wished. There's some nice brown trout in there too.

Good video! White river is on the list. Girlfriends family owns a guide service down that way. I think she is planning a trip down there next spring.

If you get the chance find the eddie where the two rivers meet but up at the top side of it. there is a spot there where the water changes temp by 20 or 30 degrees within a 10 foot range.... really fun spot to do some swimming but the smallmouth love the warm water and the trout love the cold side its a cool spot to catch either

I stay down in south Arkansas, but I've never been trout fishing. I don't know anything about it. I plan on going to the White River and camping a day or two. Do you have any suggestions on fishing from the bank?
@reliablyrandomoutdoors6 ай бұрын
OH you should go, you will love it. So around Norfork dam there are quite a few areas you can bank fish, I usually stay at the copper trout cabin about 1 mile up the road from the dam while i am there

What size was the D2 jigs 1/16 or the 1/8
@reliablyrandomoutdoors9 ай бұрын
1/8 is what we were using. 1/8 works best for big water like the white, I use 1/16 in smaller streams
@corvettebrett1 Жыл бұрын
Hey just curious as to what size you were throwing. I see 1/4, 3/8, 3/4 oz all available
@reliablyrandomoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Those were 1/4 oz. The gold, yellow, and sexy shar colors all produced…. The bite was slowest on the sexy shad but it caught the biggest fish for both of us on the trip last week.

Appreciate the video and the reply. I've been going out there for 15 years and love it. Always said it was the most fun you can have with your clothes on...😅

@@corvettebrett1 haha, totally agree! That video was my first time there but I’ve been back twice already. Shot a video on the Norfork a few weeks ago and just got back from a survival trip down there. Loved it all except the tics LOL

I'm live up here in Arkansas, we have some great fishing here. Unfortunately, I just lost my two rod and reels in the past two week, which was my only way to get out there a fish. So it looks like I'm out for the rest of the year if not longer. Is there any way someone might help me out.
@reliablyrandomoutdoors6 ай бұрын
I feel your pain! When I first started filming myself fish I lost 6 rods and reels in 1 year! Horrifically painful! My best recommendation to you would be to do what I did and go buy another one. If you don’t have the money you should perform some service or create some type of goods that could be exchanged for cash. Then use that cash to purchase fishing gear. Also there is no shame in making your own from bamboo, and there is plenty of that in northern Arkansas. Best of luck out there mate.

@reliablyrandomoutdoors3 ай бұрын
@@jacksteed4510 since it sounds like you are struggling here, I will help you out. If you want instructional videos look for titles that start with thing like “how to” or “Learn to”. This video is very honestly titled “fishing the white river”. It amazes me that someone could have been confused about what to expect, but hey if we have to have directions on pop tarts telling people not to eat the wrapper then i guess those directions are for people like you. Thanks for watching and especially thanks for commenting as that helps tell the algorithm to show my video to more people. Best of luck on your fishing trip.
