I’m sure the reason he’s using the 2500 is for its faster gear ratio. The 2000 and below don’t have that. In addition, the 2500 is only 28 grams heavier than the 1000, had a bigger spool for better casting, and substantially more drag (20lb vs 6lbs). Those stats also make it a much better “all-around” reel for those wanting a bit more versatility
