I love my hybrid lead core! 80% of my fish are caught on this hybrid set up. Did not think it would work 3 years ago and now I don’t leave home without it. Thank you for the knowledge!

Great tips! A positive charge to the line. Interesting. A old timer showed me how to use it over 30 years ago. You could add some info on speed control. The rise and fall with speed. The S turns. I've seen some amazing days with the lead. And have learned to always have one out. Just last week I used it to to pull plugs, flicker shads for Walleye. 50' of top shot. It worked great.

Good discussion on lead core, I tend to use longer length 100 ft leader especially at Pardee lake. Will shorten leader length and try. Thank you

So think about this...If you use 100 feet of topshot and your want to fish 10 feet deep you'll have out 160 feet of line. You don't need that much even in a big power boat. I used 50 feet at most in my big pontoon. That means with one color I'm 80 feet back...Two colors 110....

Good info. I have not done much lead core fishing in ages. Just fish at night with lights for trout. In your opinion, how much leader would you recommend in a very clear lake; can see 30 ft down, low nutrient level, no run off.

I usually used a 40 inch fluoro leader regardless of clarity....
