You need slots or ventilation in that platform under the mattress. Otherwise moisture and you will grow black mold or worse.

Oh, Ally...please... always... always keep it hilarious, "how many times did I tell you to stop farting..." 🤭🤣 Just that one line alone... worth the watch 😂🤣😏😆 I used to be partial to cherry wood. Then my husband, in his Woodturning, made some walnut potpourri bowls, and I fell in love with its different shades of grain (swirls of blue, green, brown). Anywho, gorgeous turnout of your bedroom with all that salvaged wood! Smart! WOW 😍

Please do a little research to see if it would be best to put slates under that great mattress you got. This is to help with air flow. I have heard others say moisture will cause damage if there isn't air flow. Maybe the quality of the mattress you won't need air flow. Your doing a great job. I like the look. You have a great voice. You could get a job reading books that people listen to. It sound great to hear you narrate what you are doing. Have fun making your dreams happen.

That is slats, not slates. But yes ventilation is very necessary under most mattresses or box springs. You could also cut holes in your plywood with a hole saw (~4")

Our first home was an early 1900’s old farm house. The upstairs was slanted or pitched ceilings. We put ship lap on the ceilings and new dry wall on the walls. Painted the old wood floors and it was an incredible space ! I remember loving that room for years 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Just a suggestion. Your Birch mattress needs to breathe. You need to either use slats on your bed base, or you should drill holes in the plywood so it can breathe keeping the air flowing through the mattress. I adore my Birch Luxe. It is the best mattress I have ever owned.

Very nice & cozy. Love the headboard wall, great feature and function. Using natural wood, your design makes it so much more special. TIP - not good Feng Shui to have a mirror that reflects your image, while sleeping; maybe move it to the clothing side of the space or drape a scarf over it at night would work. Nicely done.

Oh one more thing after a tornado hit our old farm house we had a red tin roof put on. We were one of the first in that part of northern ohio to have a metal roof. ! Loved it. As I love your black metal roof put it’s awesome 👏🏻
