"If they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Hector tamer of horses. Let them say, I lived in the time of Achilles." - Odysseus

That was a great line. What came to mind during that scene was Agamemnon screaming that Achilles's name will wash away like it was written on sand by the sea. But his name is the one that stood. 5 star movie and 5 star writing.

Hector is way to honorable to just let his brother die, and everything else that comes with it, he knew when his brother showed him Helen on the boat his time was coming to a end. But I respect Hector as a person with conviction. Like he said, Honor the gods, love your woman, defend you country. Its polar opposite Achilles fought for his own self worth, Hector fought for his wife brother country and child. Beautiful story.

Love your comment... And i agree with you... Hector was a wonderful man... He would have made a great king. Achilles was a great warrior, But had no conviction.

Movie version of epic story is bastardized. If your analysis is for the movie ok but it's not exactly like that in the books.
@AceMoonshot
@AceMoonshot 11 күн бұрын
I understand what you are saying but Hector's honor is strictly situational. If he was truly honorable, he'd have returned Helen. He even knew by not returning Helen that it was breaking a treaty made before the gods. And that it would damn his people to war and death. Nor would he'd have interfered in a duel of honor just because his brother was a coward. But he did anyway. He can rationalize those actions all he wants but they were his choices and honor didn't measure into them. Just the opposite.
@ThirdWorldReactions
@ThirdWorldReactions 9 күн бұрын
@@AceMoonshot I don't think that any man, no matter how honorable would sit back and watch is brother die right on his feet... But I do see where you are coming from. When it comes to Helen, that I agree with you 100%... he should have returned her... but do you think that Agamemnon would have not attacked even though she was returned to his brother?
@AceMoonshot
@AceMoonshot 9 күн бұрын
@@ThirdWorldReactions I do not think Agamemnon would have been able to unify the various Greek city states if they had returned her. And alone, he would have been impotent. Without Helen, there is no launching of a thousand ships. As to the brother, many countless men throughout history have watched their brothers, fathers and sons die in duels before their eyes. It was dishonorable to interfere in a duel unless the other side is cheating. Without the Code duello, you had nothing to prevent vendettas and conflict.

Don’t be sorry. Ignore that hater, just block him. You’re reaction is great! It is a reaction channel, if he doesn’t like it, he can just watch the movie alone or watch someone else. You’re laughter and reaction is what makes this video for me! Hence why I can come back and watch it over with clips that you reacted and laughed well. 😅 Not only that, you’re understanding of the movie while reacting is great. Ofc the father might take some time to understand that’s how it is, same when I watch movies with my dad. Also, can you guys react to Warcraft movie? Those two are the worst... I can go on and on and on about my dislike for both of them. 🤣🤣🤣The fact that I. and other people, can dislike them that much shows just what a great performance they gave. The movie is truly a masterpiece.

The movie takes a lot of liberties with the Trojan War story by Homer. I see why only recently have movies really committed to killing the star before act 3. After Achilles kills Hector and desecrates his corpse by dragging it behind his carriage the Gods of Troy take such offense they guide Paris’ arrow to Achilles only weak point right then and there

Highly unlikely any of this was historically accurate. Most everything the Greeks wrote was oracle propaganda. (The oracles are always right. Question this at your peril.) It is even debated if Homer existed. (Most likely multiple authors added to the Iliad, over a period of centuries.) There was a city named Troy. (Ruins discovered in the late 1800s.) So that much is accurate.
@ThirdWorldReactions
@ThirdWorldReactions Ай бұрын
Thanks for the info. I read about the city of Troy, had no idea it was in present day Türkiye... always believed it was in Greece, but the maps have changed since that age. Yea... ancient history is usually made more grandiose than it actually was by the authors. Which makes sense from their point of view since they want future generations to have something to look up to.

True... dad an issue with the name as well when I created the channel. But I don't see the term 3rd world as offensive. It is just a term to simply define the state of an economy or nation. And a 3rd world nation can, with the right direction, move from 3rd world to first world just as U.A.E and Singapore have. And a 1st world nation can decline as well.
