I really loved Montgomery Gentry. Their music, attitude, patriotism, interaction, back-up players, the whole vibe. Troy's tragic death hit me hard, really hard. The blow hasn't really softened with the passage of time. I still enjoy their music and videos, but I rarely get through an entire track without tearing up. I'm a married, 6'4", 240lb., 50-year old man and Troy's death is so sad. He had such talent, desire, commitment, charm, drive, humility, and personality. Cut down at the peak of his career and the prime of his life. I have so much sympathy and empathy for the personal and professional voids and challenges that Troy's loss has created for Eddie. They were like brothers on and off stage and as uniquely talented as they were individually, as a duo in their touring act, Eddie and Troy were virtually irreplaceable. We fans were robbed of so much beautiful entertainment, inspiration, love, and laughter. Way too soon. Thank you and RIP, Mr. T-Roy Gentry. God Bless his family and everyone affected by this horrible tragedy.

What hurts the most is Troy just wanted one more #1 hit. He told Storme Warren " Help us get one more hit so I can keep touring, keep taking care of my family!". He just wanted to be on the bus touring with his family. The new song BETTER ME is top 10 material, he had just laid tracks on an album that would have carried thy band for years to come. Damn the guy who said " Hey Troy, wanna go for a helicopter ride?". For those who want to risk their lives like that, that's fine. Just leave our music legends alone. Don't try to impress them with a helicopter ride, etc. Damn, this sucks!!!!!!!!
@naysawalker73874 жыл бұрын
Actually Eddie was supposed to take that ride and he turned it down. Troy said "Hell Yea, let's do it"
@molonlabe15096 жыл бұрын
I liked Chris Janson's take on it. It sucks when anyone dies who you're close to...but it's a part of life. I don't consider myself religious in the strictest sense of the word, but I do believe in some kind of afterlife. What that is, I have no idea. But this isn't the end. It can't be. If we're just accidents of nature, then what's the point of our conscious acknowledgement of our conscience? We're meant to learn here in this life. Those we lose remind us of that. And while I'd be the first to caution against the adoration of celebrity, sometimes losing one who had an effect on a mass of people can force us to reflect on our own lives. I think Troy Gentry was a person who had that effect. Rest well, sir. You were, and continue to be, a ripple in the pond.

Karma is a bitch David M..You just told the truth and facts..I was a fan until I saw the video of a coward kill a poor tamed animal to pretend that he was a big game hunter,then held it's poor head up laughing while the bear bled to death.Any country artist who does something so cowardly as this and anyone who defends these cowards,well God will reward you,and he will reward you good.Strange,I just watched the video one day before the crash and could not belive what I had seen..Proof is at youtube.com country singer kills tamed bear,or enter the cowards name then kills tamed bear.Who and what would pay $4000.00 to to shoot an arrow in a tamed old bears lungs and laugh while the amimal dies??..The answer lies in this video and the exposed one..Thanks to Steve Hendi for being so kind to post the video for all the fans to see.Beware of what you say,karma is alive and well and is not DEAD !!!
