Grew up hunting rabbits with beagles! Thru the 60s then 80s and 90s! Lost my dad in 2005 but have many memories of hunt with old time hunters and also with my son hunting with his granddad! After a accident in 2009 I lost half of my left leg so mobility is limited but suppose to go sometime this year and use my 4 Wheeler! Thanks for the memories!

We were running Swampers in North Louisiana and the Dogs caught one and pulled the hide off of him! I shot that thing and it only had hair on it's head and feet!! I took the inerds and 3 hooks and made a throw line and caught a 50 pound blue catfish out of the Red River the next day. Good hunt! LOL

Never tried rabbit hunting with dogs and I live in the state of Maryland.. Rabbit has got to be the easiest wild game to clean,, a simple push and pop..

8:11 good shot of a spider web in sunlight. Those dogs quieted right down when you told them :Dead Rabbot and showed them the kill." I am impressed, I haven't ever seen a man get a beagle to shut up. (While still alive of course. I surely do not condone shooting the dog to shut him up.)

Normally we hunt with 6-8 dogs...sometimes we'll run a very large pack of 10+ dogs

Basically, to keep the dogs from eating it. We clean the guts out of the rabbit to prevent the rabbit from being so heavy as we carry them through the woods.

When you harvest several rabbits, it makes the rabbits lighter to carry when you remove it. Some people say that it cause more predators to come on the land. This may or may not be true. We have removed it for several years.

Benson's Kennel ...we field dress as well, but we leave the guts where they fall. I like your squeeze technique, I cant wait to try on our little cottontails.

Don't let the dogs eat the guts. If they start eating guts, they will be eating the whole rabbit.
