Thanks for the video, I have the exact splitter and have been looking for a 4 way. Thanks to your video, I orderd the same 4 way and it fits fine after grinding as you did. I trimmed the ears on the log dislodger at the same time because of you pointing out that the 4 way will bend them. It works flawlessly, and I like it better than the bolt on ones as you can take it right off when it isnt needed. I also added saddles to my splitter to set the rounds on, the stock ones are way too small. Thanks again.

You are welcome. I never use mine, just seems like I never have big enough rounds, I did not think that one through!

Thanks for sharing this video. I have been looking for a wedge for the same splitter with no such luck.

Been having great success with mine, it doesn’t ride up. On the big rounds I use it and on the smaller diameter I take it off. The 4-way really speeds up my splitting time.

I'm glad it's working for you. It certainly does make it faster.

Thanks for the video! I borrowed a TB 27 Ton two years in a row and just purchased a 33 Ton TB (stupidly cheap) and would like a 4 way wedge. A little bit of grinding isn't a big deal, I'll pick one up.

Before grinding see what the angle of the original wedge is vs the 4 way. Many of these splitters are made by the same company or use the same parts, so this might work for you. If the point of the original wedge does NOT sit all the way in the bottom of the 4 way, just slip it over and get something solid to push against, I used a jack stand, but anything that allows you to put a good press on will work. It will spread the 4 way so it now slips without grinding. I also found the side wings too far forward , so I cut about 1" off back (inside) of the 4 way, along with a notch in the top bracket to straddle the original wedge mounting bosses. It puts the side splitters just forward of the cylinder attachment and makes it much more stable and useful IMHO.

I bought one at TSC, they fit now, no grinding on my 27 Ton! Love it easy on off for when I need the single for the smaller pieces. Also the swisher is very well made. Are you having any trouble with your shear bolts? What are you using!

My troy bilt died last year, and it will not fit on the new Performer. Do you find that it ever rides up when you are using the 4 way?

@@BrokeDickBoys what died on your Troy Built? Pump or engine?
@BrokeDickBoys Жыл бұрын
It ended up being the pump, replaced it and the hydraulic fluid intake port became an issue and I just junked it!
@davekana8388 Жыл бұрын
@@BrokeDickBoys oh boy, I can see the pump going next in mine, I replaced the Briggs February 2019. I wonder if I change the fluid and filter if it would make a difference. The fluid looks clean as can be.🤷♂️ Thanks, what did you replace it with? I like those kinetic splitters.

Was called a Performance or Performer. It is 32 ton, I am sure China made. has done well for almost 2 years.

I also have the Troy Bilt 27 ton splitter with the Honda engine, but MY wedge does NOT have a number 2 or any other number. Does that mean this 4 way wedge will bolt right on? Is there a bolt which holds it on or does it just slip into place?
@BrokeDickBoys8 жыл бұрын
After the grinding it slipped on. I wish I could tell you it would work with no modification, but I just don't know. This one just slipped on after the grind.

Bentley Meredith my Swisher 4 way arrived late yesterday evening, got up around 3AM to grind a very small amount of clearance off the back of the Troy Bilt wedge, went right on !!

After 2 years of use do you still like the wedge?
@BrokeDickBoys5 жыл бұрын
I would never buy it again, it takes a huge round to be effective, and I dont split those. It does not split the wood evenly, so you have 2 big two small. And it moves around, it is not permanent. 2 fins welded directly on the main wedge, perfectly centered is what is needed. That I would like, this is a good wedge, I am sure, it just does not meet my needs! Wasted $100!
