Everything I have read and the manual states the car must be on its wheels on level ground before tightening the sway bar links up, to get the right torsion. But every video has the suspension hanging. I followed the video and resulted in much banging. Redid them wheels on the ground, no noise noise. Why do so many so called experts mislead the average punter?

YIKES! DO NOT ever tighten the the forks down with the wheels off the ground, you will preload the rubber when it is finally sat down causing premature failure of the bushing.
