I have literally learned more from this video in five minutes than I have watching fifty hours of other suspension diagnostic videos ("uuhhh, what's this clunk-y noise??" - which you can't actually hear over the road noise - followed by twenty uncut minutes of shakily checking the easiest parts to get to with one hand). Have this guy make more videos please!!

If a mechanic does not go on a thorough test drive and inspect your suspension on a lift then give you his findings , walk away and find another, I had a shop recently move my car literally 10 feet and tell me my engine mounts were bad, It actually was a bad strut mount that was only 8 months old, BEWARE !

TL;DR: Tire lug nuts were loose and making popping noise occasionally when driving. I just want to thank you for this video from the bottom of my heart. My car kept making a popping noise and i couldn't figure out where it was coming from. It only made the noise when I would go over tiny bumps in the road. I had watched about an hour worth of videos before I found yours. I checked my tire and the lug nuts were loose. Once I tightened them, the noise went away. Thank you so much. what i learned after trying to find what's causing the noise in my 10 years old car: just replace all the suspension parts, it would be much easier. lower arm, absorber, absorber mount, sway bar links and bushings. and if you drive years with busted struts, change the cv axle too because they will definitely went bad.

I’ve check my sway bar, ball joints, tie rod, control arm, etc. Just changed my absorbers and mounts are still good. The wheel does have some play when jacked up and wiggled. It does not have any other symptoms of being a wheel bearing. Motor mounts are solid. I’m baffled and wondering what you think it may be before i end up replacing a bunch of front end parts.

It’s a Chrysler no surprise the ball joints are bad. I had a Jeep Patriot that needed ball joints every 25,000 miles driving on paved roads. Alot of times front suspension noise can also be front sway bar links. They can make a lot of noise and are pretty easy and cheap to change.
