For future do-ers. You can leave everything connected. Just undo the bolts for the ecm and lift it up and out of the way. The coolant reservoir just scoots forward and you can sneak the motor past the bolts. Just got done with it myself. Did not go to this extent. Although. Used video for references. Thank you.

I went from a dud when it came to repairing Vehicles other than very very basic things but it's because of your videos I have successfully replaced my radiator and now I'm looking at my blower motor. Thanks for making these quick and simple tutorials. They may be short but all the details you give are the important ones that I need to know

Thanks for the video. I just moved the whole ecm with the wires still attached, got the coolant reservoir moved and it came right out. Had a rats nest in my old motor.

With a 2000 gmc sonoma it’s harder to remove but possible I actually had to break that stud that’s from the wheel well but it shouldn’t matter that much always replace it with a better designed bolt.

Great video, thanks! I noticed you didn't show yourself removing and reinstalling the blower bolts. When I got to the bottom bolts I started thinking bad four letter words about you! One bolt took me 1.5 hours to get out and back in again.....grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Also, my computer had 2 bolted on connector blocks vs. convenient clips that had a very pissy rubber gasket that had to be super glued back into place before the bolted on blocks would go back in. AND, the new blower from Advance was assembled wrong (I assume) in Chachaina as the cooling tube port was at 11:00 instead of 5:00!!! Of course I didn't notice this fact until everything was back together. I couldn't get the Manager to admit the parts failure but when I told him that his employees would be the ones changing it out he went right outside with tubing and connectors to route to the proper place.

just replaced mine for the second time yesterday 98 Isuzu Hombre Chevy S10 in disguise 278000 miles all stock. BTW you don't have to go threw all that ... well I didn't I moved the wiring unbolted the blower turned the housing and out it came, when i installed it all I did was rotate the outer housing till the smallest part of the housing flange was facing the bottom in it went. no removing the ECU no removing the coolant reservoir. I don't know if there's a difference from the room you have to work with from one to another I do know i have a s-10 with a different front clip that's Isuzu when i need parts at the parts counter I tell the parts guy 98 s-10.

HEADS UP, WARNING TO DIY PPL.. my son and I followed the exact instructions in this video. Our connectors were very difficult to remove from the ECM, when they finally did release, parts of them were still inside the box. After posting on Facebook about our issue, a friend said we DID NOT need to remove the connectors AT ALL. That we were playing with fire and that a whole world of problems could ensue!! So, now we are both in online forums trying to find out what to do now!! I was trying to laugh it off, but I am getting more pissed off by the minute. So many ppl asking why we unhooked them in the first place?! Well, my only answer is that I chose to trust TRQ (usually a reliable channel), but now my opinion has changed, because of the terrible information given here. Please learn from my mistake and just move the ECM box out of the way.

I droppped something back behind the blower motor would that mean it’s just in the wheel well? Think it will rattle out or is this going to cause engine damange

Iv been wondering if it's possible to 3d print an adapter for the blower motor or something similar to hold a cabin air filter. If anyone wants to take this farther please get back to me. Update. I watched the video and realized an adapter is just not possible. But maybe still possible before the blower motor.

Is the the v6 vortec?vortex? Or does it matter?
@biggestbog2 жыл бұрын
Vortex does not exist. That is not a type of motor. The Vortec motors are just the name GM uses
