95 ford ranger when i removed the panel the water shield was all crumbled no way to use it. What can i use to replace it? Can i use closed cell 1/8 th thick vtp? It is waterproof? Thnks

Okay question so I tapped out the rivets and then I drilled it out but when I looked on the inside to see what was happening with how much was left there's this three-leaf star it's a metal star I just did break all that off should I break that 3-piece metal star off

So here's my question where is the exterior door connected to the latch? How is it connected that it opens the latch that hooks onto the square thing when you shut the door the latch sits on the outermost edge of the door you can see how how is all that connected how do you get into that
