Thank you for the review. I grabbed one of these from a thrift store yesterday for 6dollars CAD, which is about 4 USD. The previous owner had left leaky batteries in it, a little sandpaper and contact cleaner, and I now have a mint working unit. I agree with your assessment, it is a solid unit.

Nice review Tom! Looks like a nice radio. The radios now days aren't too much different other than the addition of DSP and Sync on some of them. I notice that the DX-390 adds the backlight for the display.
