Another 10 from me Baz 👍 Loved it glad you're gonna show the rebuild you are showing that there is more to biking than just riding plus I get my music fix 😊

Good work brother. Good to see another trials rider. The amount of confidence you can gain riding one will translate to anything else you will ride

It's probably the damage to the tapered portion from the previous failure that's causing it to come loose. That taper is what actually keeps the flywheel on and in position and if it isn't in good shape it won't actually lock together.

Awesomeness!!!!!! Thanks pal

Bit of grinding paste to lap the tapper together to remove some of damage and the tappers match again.
@davew936011 ай бұрын
I was also thinking that flywheel needs lapped onto the crank with grinding paste .

Might want to check the rear skid pan bolts as if they loosen or in your case are simply gone it will create a vibration that sounds like the engine is coming apart!!! And from the side profile as you were starting it I can see the skid pan hanging down

I was guessing the noise was from the kickstart. My Scorpa wore enough to rattle. Only bike in forty years to wear that out !

the shaft and or flywheel taper is stuffed - your timing will be out too because the woodruff key slot is so flogged in the flywheel

1.4k views after 2 days is bad??Good follow up vid. Bash plate resonance ouch! Do you think your method and execution in last video was sound? Get trusted local auto eng shop to check replacement crank for 'run out' dti gauges etc. to see how new crank compares with old 'un. I would NOT be putting that flywheel alloy nut back on. Steel nut, loctite and locking tab washer for me.

Hey buddy.. When I shot the video it was on less than 200 views so I'm happy that the first video has picked up a bit. 😁 I should have replaced the bent bolt on the sump plate and if I'm totally honest the threads on the missing bolt weren't the best but at least I get to do the job properly now. As you know mate the channel is all about doing things for yourself and on a light budget so I'll be doing almost everything in house.. I'm sure you understand. 😉

You should feel bad for not doing regular maintenance like checking nuts and bolts for tightness and thinking your motor is coming apart!

You leaving the engine ticking over for 10 to 15 minutes is doing the engine a world of harm. If that's something you do regularly, it'll be why engines are failing. (obviously nothing lasts forever but you're shortening the engine life drastically)
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Jack but I'm pretty sure, actually 100% sure than any two stroke motor is very happy to idle for 10 to 15 minutes while it warms up. 👍
