I've lived under modern day Wahabism and its only benefit is political. Wahabism is oppressive and Islam is liberation. In a nutshell, I hate Wahabism, but I love Islam.

@@Mohamed.AbduLlahh I wonder who is really ignorant. Nobody goes there to ask for anything from the Sahabas themselves. Our Prophet(S.A.V.) himself visited graves many times. Even burying himself in his home is an act that encourages this. But if it were up to the Wahabis, they want to destroy even that. Because they know nothing but destruction. Then they ask the British to build a place of worship for them!

Sunnah version is not you call........if you cannot follow maturidi asharis because you think that they have taught fabricated things so the books from which you take Sunnah were also written by them they can also make mistake in that the number 1 biddah done by wahabis is considered only bukhari Muslim sahih because none of the Companions, tabaieen has told us to only follow them and called them Sunnah this is according to the wahabi theology

İ am born Wahabi, but I have personally realised that some things are very extreme in this sect. In addition, I have seen my things in other sects also. Resultantly, I would say that Islam has no place for sects. We are only Muslims.

Salafism is rooted in Wahhabism, which was founded by Ibn Abdul Wahhab of Najdi. He developed his own ideas on Islam and began to resent the common Orthodox practices of Muslims of his time which included celebrating Mawlid (birth of the holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi waalihi wasallam) , visiting shrines of Sufi Awliya (holy men), seeking a means to Allah (waseela), and considering Allah to be present in his creation as the soul is present in the body (omnipresence of Allah, Wahdat ul Wujhood, best represented by the name of Allah, Al-Wasi). Ibn Abdul Wahhab claimed Allah has the body of a man, is sitting on his throne as a man sits and all forms of devotion to holy men is shirk (polytheism). This was not the understanding of the Muslim scholars throughout the Muslim world and they regarded him as a deviant and liar (Muslim scholars at the time believed Allah was 1 and he is known through his creation and his attributes are manifest through them, therefore veneration of holy men is veneration to Allah as Allah is with his beloved creation as the soul is with the body). Ibn Abdul Wahhab allied himself with a local ruler of Najd and their tribe (the Saud tribe). They attacked Taif, Makkah and Karbala and did massacres of Orthodox Sunni Muslims. The Ottomans defeated them (at the Ottoman-Wahhabi War c. 1818) and they remained a weak force until the fall of the Ottoman Empire and British support. According to the Ottomans, Salafism/Wahhabism was a British ploy to spread a Protestant version of Islam to divide the Muslims as Europe was divided on Catholic-Protestant lines. If this is the case, it certainly worked very well. Some say Salafism originated in Egypt in the 19th century, but this is not the case. The thinkers of Egypt in the early 19th century used the beliefs developed in Najd in the 18th century. Reasons for this is a whole other topic in itself.

*_Who are the Wahhaabis and what is their message?_* *Question* i have recently come to islam and people have told me to stay away from wahabis, who are they and wht do they preech? *Answer* Praise be to Allah. It is obligatory upon the Muslim to follow the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), according to the way of the righteous salaf who followed the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Sahaabah and those who followed them - may Allaah be pleased with them all. These people are called Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah (the People of the Sunnah and the Community). Everyone who follows the way brought by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is one of them. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought the message of Tawheed (absolute Oneness of Allaah) and rejection of shirk (polytheism, or association of others with Allaah); he called people to worship Allaah alone and none other. With regard to the word “Wahhaabis”, some people use this word to refer to the message of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab ibn Sulaymaan al-Tameemi al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him), and they call him and his followers Wahhaabis. Everyone who has any knowledge of the movement of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) and his message knows that he sought to spread the message of pure Tawheed and to warn against shirk in all its forms, such as attachment to the dead, or to trees and rocks, etc. In his ‘aqeedah (belief), he was following the way of the righteous Salaf and the Taabi’een [i.e., the earliest generations of Islam], as is indicated by his books and fatwas, and the books of his followers among his sons and grandsons and others. All of these books are in print and are in circulation among the people. His message was in accordance with the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Wahhaabism is not a new way or a new school of thought; rather it is a call to Tawheed and the revival of aspects of the religion that had been forgotten. What you have to do is to beware of those who warn you against the Wahhaabis, because they are warning you against following the truth and the early generation of this ummah. Applying the word “Wahhaabis” to those who adhere to correct belief and warning people against them is the way of the ignorant and biased. We ask Allaah to keep you safe and sound. U see , the knowledge and ability to take law directly from Quran , Hadis and Sunnah left behind from Prophet Muhammad PBUH is not like a thing everyone can do . This is not like learning to walk when we're small . Two ulama can understood the same sentence in Quran differently then of course they will create Fatwa that might contradict each other . The wahabbi dislike this and they dont want to follow any one 'Mazhab' . They didnt follow Imam Syafie or Hambali or Malik or Hanafi . They instead opt to cherry pick any fatwa that they like from each four mazhab . Any mistake in here is vested solely on me and me alone . Please do further research on this issue . Fatima (as) the daughter of the prophet fought with Abu Bakr for stealing her inheritance and remained angry with him until her death so are you saying the prophet dislikes his daughter, the mistress of woman in paradise? If Abu Bakr was the prophets best friend why did he abandon the prophet's funeral to attend a midnight 'election' with his real bff Omar? why did he make up a hadeeth to steal the inheritance of the prophet's daughter Fatima then give the prophet's inheritance instead to his multiple wives and most of it to his own daughter Aisha? Did Abu Bakr not read the laws of inheritance in the Quran? Why does his hadeeth get a pass on contradicting the Quran, not just to anyone, to oppose the prophet's daughter herself, the mistress of the women of paradise??

Over 80% of what has been mentioned in this video is false. Maybe the parts that Yasir Qadhi mentioned were accurate but most of this video was inappropriate and inaccurate. All great Sunni Ulama agree that it is haram to build shrines over graves and to introduce innovations into the religion. So it is a little rich to say these are Wahabi teachings. TRT needs to stop this lame reporting. We need to be more mature if we want to unite the Ummah. If you want to make an academic video then invite Ulama and set up a dialogue or debate. This isn't the right way to report on issues. Don't muddy the waters. Fear Allah!

8:37 there's only 3 holy sites in Islam. Masjid al Haram, Masjid an Nabavi, Masjid al Aqsa. Nothing more. Prophet's places are not holy in Islam. Even the sahaba or thabi'oon doesn't considered them so. This is the real way of islam. Nabi PBUH said: my ummah will be divided into 73 groups, and only 1 will be enter Jannah. His name was Muhammad not Abdul Wahab ...Abdul Wahab was his fathers name ... He was a monotheistic Muslim and never followed unislamic rituals in deen ... He told people to follow Quran and Sunnah and blindly follow the saints and grave worshiping . He loved The Nabi ﷺ that is why he call people to follow Tawheed ( Pure Monotheism ) , revive Sunnah . He also loved Ahle Bait and out of his 5 sons 3 were named after Ali , Hassan and Husaain ( May Allahs Blessings be upon them ) He didn't lunch any new sect but stopped people from doing shrik and biddah . After all We are Muslim and Quran says us to call ourselves Muslims and don't make sects . Islam has no sects no shia no sunni , no Hanafi , No Hanbali , No Deobandi , No Wahabi . Quran says Followers of Islam are Muslims Our Nabi ﷺ was a Muslim . His Sahaba were Muslim . His Ahle Bait were Muslim . No Imam ( Imam Jaffar , Imam Abu Hanefa , Imam Malik , Iman Shafi , Imam Ibn Hambal , imam Bukhari ,Muslim, Abu Dawood etc , They never launched any sect it is people who created sects by their name ..... @@sohanuikey3862 Nowhere In the video they called him, Abdul Wahhab. They either said Muhammad Ibn Abd Al-Wahab or IBN Abd-Al-Wahab. Besides Hanafi or Hanbali is not a sect. It is a school of Fiqh. A teaching founded by our four great Imams who the Salafis reject, saying "we don't do taqleed" when they do taqleed of Imam Al-Albani. Taqleed is necessary to be student, and almost every Salafi sheikh says he is a student of knowledge. And then they contradict themselves by saying taqleed is haram and everyone should just follow whichever fatwa they are presented. The Saudi Salafiyya group has a methodology which is messed up and everyone know that, even though they hide under their "Qur'an and Sunnah''. How can you understand Qur'an or Sunnah without a proper person teaching you. The only way the teacher will teach you is when you listen to him with full attention and meaning. But Oh No Taqleed is Haram Saudis say. There are Wallahi things wrong with this methodology.

You guys do BLIND FOLLOWING of 4 Imams....while they themselves said dont take our rulings if you dont understand where we got our evidence from, if our fatwa contradict a sahih Hadith throw it against the wall, etc etc No Salafi blind follows Sheikh Albani - we respect him and his knowledge just like we do the 4 imams but difference is if you bring us proof/hadith that Albani was wrong we will agree with you, but Taqleedi blind followers cant do that because...they are just blind following. In the begining this wasnt such a big issue except after few hundred years the 4 imams got enshrined into "schools" and you end up blind following a student, of a student, of a student, of a student of Imam abu Hanifa. Your distance from the original source (the evidence/hadith that the Imam used to derive his ruling) is so tremendous that now you are following something totally at odds with what Rasulallah (saw) and His Sahaba (ra) were upon because your modern day imam told you to....and you see the original Islam as "wahabism". Salafism isnt bringing anything new, its just going back to basics, to purify the deen from the cultural garbage that built up over time.

@Yusuf Isa Grave worship is very real. I have seen it with my own eyes. There are 1000s of videos on youtube showing it. There are people who make sujood to graves and call upon the inhabitants thinking they are getting blessing when this was the essence of the Shirk the Prophet (saw) came to stop. The Prophet (saw) forbade building over the graves, go look at any sufi or shia city and you will see large tombs and find many examples of people calling upon the dead. This is the kind of Shirk and cultural garbage that made the Muslims weak, Allahs help stopped coming and we are seeing the result, how can you expect Allahs help when your devotion and prayers are for other than Allah? When you were commanded to Only worship Allah.

As a Bangladeshi, I feel your pain as I was in the same position. For me, I even stopped listening to any speeches from our Hujurs and started listening to Zakir Naik, Omar Sulaiman, Nauman Ali Khan, Imran Nazar Hossein, or whoever seemed good. After years I came across a Shaikh while searching for Madhab. His point of view blew my mind. You must know him D. Khandakar Abdullah Jahangir, he was a professor at Islamic University, Kustia. His education is from Saudi and many people call him Wahabi. I never believed in any sects and Alhamdulillah his lectures or speeches never made me think I need one. Above it was my personal experience. His lectures cleared lots of my doubts and take me close to Deen. You can give it a try to listen to him. Success will be for those who are good/practicing Muslims nothing else.

Madhabs were found during Khairul Kuruns (tabe'in, tabe tabi'en). but the concept of saying other Mushrik, bidati was found long time after khairul kuruns. Wahabis follow Ibn Taimiya who believed that Allah SWT moves physically from Arsh to the 1st Sky. Wahhabis are real Mushrik. listen, Our ancestors weren't wrong by following Shahjalal RA, Shahporan RA. they brought Islam in BD. Also Bakhtiar Khilji was a Hanafi Maturidi. Mustafa PBUH said about 73 creeds. no one can merge them and make an united Ummah.

This is not true. There is no sect with this name (Wahhabism) and there are no books for it. if the Saudis cooperate to bring down the Soviet Union with America and some countries (including Muslim countries), this does not make them non-Muslims and have the freedom to choose their politics . Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, a sheikh of a tribe who was fighting Ottoman Egypt, and Ottoman Egypt won under the leadership of Ali Pasha in 1744, then what? Ottoman Egypt fought the Ottoman Empire in 1839 and won!

Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab was a great scholar. In his literature there's nothing something they claim. Kitab Al Taweed is one of best and basic book in it, I have read it. All reference are from Qur'an and authentic Hadith. If they don't know that what we can do.

Wahabiism is different from what the Saudi government is currently doing. The Saudi government is just Salafi by name. Sheikh Abdul Wahab did do some extreme things but he also successfully ended false acts of worship. These acts include making tawaf around the graves of some companions before performing umrah.

The Shia world the first people used the word “wahhabi” for destroying Shia graves in Saudi Arabia by ibn al wahhab. Now all the Hadith refusers (ahlul bid’ah & ahlush shirk wal jama’ath) are using the same word. But they still don’t know that wahhab is the name Allah.

In Pakistan it has spreaded too. I must say it's really hard to talk to people of this ideology. They say everything is shirk. Going to saint's shrine is shirk. Graveyards are not places of worship, the prophet didn't even let us draw him. You think he wanted us to go and worship him? But his graveyard is still there just to see it not to worship it.

@mo poppe the Four main Imams of Fiqh were believers in naming things 'holy'. Why do u think many people rushed to gather the Prophet's hair after his haircut? Answer is becuase it is holy. Holy does not mean being worthy of worship. Holy means special and something to be loved because it is related to the person you love.

@mo poppe bro it is an exaggeration that u guys will judge everyone who will find interest in the historical islamic artifacts and immediately think that we will worship those things. We are Muslims we know better and we know that Allah is our one and only God and there is no stone or artifact that is partnered with th him in his worship. Mostly people make Dua to Allah for barakah because of those artifacts. At graves u are right we can only make Dua for the deceased and we can't ask the dead for help ur right.

*_Advice to those who do not recognize the Salafi scholars and call them Wahhaabis_* *Question* what do you say to those who do not acknowledge (for whatever reason) the scholars of today such as shaikh Uthaymeen, shaykh bin Baaz raheemahullah, shaykh Al-Albaani raheemahullah? a few call them wahabi and say that these scholars follow a new sect rather than the universal deen of al-Islam that was followed by all the major scholars of the past. *Answer* Praise be to Allah. The Muslim is obliged to accept the teachings of Islam, and act upon them. When he hears of some word or deed which is based on evidence (daleel) from the Qur’aan or Sunnah, then he has to accept it and give it priority over anything else. He should check what people say against the evidence of sharee’ah, and only accept those views which are in accordance with that evidence. It is known that Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) called people to Tawheed and he wrote his famous book on that topic which is called Kitaab al-Tawheed. In this book he limited himself to quoting only the clear evidence from the verses of the Qur’aan and the saheeh ahaadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Commentaries on this book were written by his grandson ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Hasan and other scholars. Hence none of his opponents can refute this book or claim that his evidence is false. They fabricated lies and believed them, so they believed that he was misguided. They gave the same label to the scholars of the Muslims such as Shaykh Ibn Baaz and Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on them both). It is known that the shaykhs whom we have mentioned did not deviate from the correct view with regard to beliefs and actions; they followed the same path as the Sahaabah and Taabi’een, the four imaams, the authors of the Six Books and others. Those who do not acknowledge them do that either out of ignorance, blind imitation of others, jealousy, stubbornness or following their own whims and desires, or adherence to traditions, bid’ah (innovation) and evil actions that go against the evidence (of sharee’ah). Earlier and later scholars have proven such people to be wrong. So we must follow the evidence and give it priority over the views of all people.

Hudhaifa i.e. Ibn al Yaman (ra) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Verily, I fear about a man from you who will read the Qur’an so much that his face will become enlightened and he will come to personify Islam. This will continue until Allah desires. Then these things will be taken away from him when he will disregard them by putting them all behind his back and will attack his neighbor with the sword accusing him of Shirk. The Prophet was asked - which of the two will be deserving of such an accusation? - The attacker or the attacked? We aren't allowed to even judge a non-muslim. how can you even dare to say to a person who will be in hell who said Allah is his God and Prophet Muhammed is the last messenger of Allah.
