(Tru. Flare) How to use a bear banger.

WRONG! (For safety reasons you should reshoot this video). When you deploy a Bear Banger, you fire the projectile OVER YOUR OWN HEAD. Not at the bear as you improperly suggested, and NOT ABOVE the bear as you incorrectly stated. Bear Bangers are designed to scare a bear away from where the noise is coming from. If the noise is above the bear he will still run in any direction (maybe in your direction). Plus, upon your advice, you'd have to be extremely familiar with banger's deployed ranges, angles of arc, and delayed timing to actually deliver a Bear Banger ABOVE a bear. And just kind of a side note: This video would have been better if it was not shot in the winter when bears are hibernating.

+Kyle Pilkey I like that lens a lot! the VR works hard, and the lens is noticeably sharper at f8 tho most of the time i had it at f5.6 and got some great bird photos from it. Now that i have the 80-400mm i sometimes miss the versatility of carrying around a light small good telephoto. hope that helps.

Wow, that is loud. I had an encounter with a black bear once. I was reading in a nice secluded sunny spot and along came this big black bear I looked at him and he looked at me and I turn and ran one way and he turned and ran the other way lol! So in the case of black bears I think they are probably as scared of you as you are of them :)

I wonder how loud a 12ga shell with wad only no shot would be? If you had it loaded blank/buck/slug in a pump you prob would have no more bear problem and be capacity compliant for hunting regs

personally i would fire it straight up slightly ahead of you because most bears will run away the same way they came from.. (not always)
