Thanks for the TRU updates. As a user of the lines, It is great to see what is happening and the pace. What an undertaking. I love Civil engineering.

It's really intriguing to watch the project taking shape. After so many years of this route hardly changing, it feels strange to be witnessing such wholesale change. It's a massive undertaking

I heard they'd started installing a few near Dewsbury, but I haven't found any yet

Mirfield station is a shadow of its former self.

A lot of modern stations seem to be pretty functional and basic rather than particularly impressive

The visualisation of Mirfield station looks very nice, but what happens if it rains?

I suppose they'd have to add a shelter covering at some point. But why not include it from the beginning? Even more odd to not cover the subsurface area.

I've just had a look at the planning document and it says the island platform will be provided with two waiting shelter seating areas at 50 metre intervals. I must say, that seems like a very basic provision considering the weather we get in Yorkshire!

How things change. All very modern and fast line speeds now. I remember the pre 1970 station. The line speed was 35mph on both up and down slow, but we did have a large canopy covering most of the station, two waiting rooms, toilets and a booking office.

Its a shame they don't offer the Heaton Lodge bridge to a heritage railway
@sarahandwills2 ай бұрын
That would be fantastic. It's rather a nice structure.

It is Much needed but personally living in West Yorkshire and trying to commute to Manchester on a train should not be encouraged… I am using some intelligence and boycotting; Its hopeless until this job is done and dusted, then it will be the transport of choice- Definitely

I don't blame you. It'll be great when finished, but there's certainly some short-term pain to endure for long-term gain.

I guess everyone has their own style. I prefer to let the images and sounds in my videos speak for themselves, adding a few captions with key information. I think voice-overs can be useful sometimes, but I've also seen a few videos where the narrator feels like they have to fill every bit of airtime with waffle, and that can ruin a good video. Hope you're still enjoying the content though 👍
