TRU seems like minor works compared to the Silvertown Tunnel and the proposed Lower Thames Road Tunnel.

Thanks Sarah; when do you think this station-moving etc work will be finished?

A huge amount of money being spent on a station that has 1 train per hour, and many of them don't pick-up / drop-off a single passenger.

With respect. That like lots of things in this world can change.

@@guyroebuck8510 What little parking there is now, is being removed. No bus routes close by. (3/4 mile) Very little housing close by.(~1/2 mile) If nobody is using the rail service now, what would be the point of more trains stopping for nobody to get on / off...? It's so poorly used, there are no ticket machines, and only a departure screen on one of the two platforms. People get the more frequent, more convenient, far cheaper bus. And even the busses have had their frequency massively reduced. It's just like the new Morley Station just up the line. Both poorly sited, and NOW even more so....

@@andrewnelson4057 Andrew ..As In the Lyrics of immortal Marvin Gaye Song:- "What's going on" First there is the Dewsbury Riverside Housing project that is only waiting for the new road realignment at the new Station before it starts. Do you know of these plans that are walking distance to the Station? We are talking into the thousands of new builds. So it is going to be very well situated to the Station which leads into my second point... The Quality of the station is a definite upgrade. New Long platforms that will allow for the first time since 1964, a Wakefield Direct service and probably a stop for Grand Central to Doncaster/ London. I am pretty sure there will be some car parking facilities constructed and some new bus stops and services. nailed on! You simply won't recognise the place when finished! You need to find the plans. The place will be unrecognisable seriously Multi, Multi Millions being spent in just ONE hectare Massive Civils. I have said this before and been laughed at to my face but The New Riverside, particularly the more you go towards Thornhill/ Foxroyd ; Will be a desirable place to live because of the surrounding green spaces and Agricultural setting. Take Note

Not anytime soon…Years of work to come

It'll take a long time. I haven't seen a list of dates/timescales for when it might be finished. It would be nice to know things like... when will Heaton Lodge Junction's new 1km curve be done, when will the relocated Ravensthorpe Station be finished, when will the work on four-tracking Hudds to Dewsbury start, when are the major changes at Mirfield Station due to happen. There seems to be a lack of info about timings for these aspects of the project.
