The issue is that the win condition pretty much forces survivors to tunnel gens cuz there isn't much else to do without putting yourself at disadvantage, game design makes both sides tunnel, which is a shame. I wish more people understood that.

Yeah, and same for killers. Despite all the anti tunneling perks, it's just so much easier once someone is out.

Survivors should probably get another objective on top of repairing gens, like having to find gen parts around the map or some RNG mission to cleanse cursed totem-like entities, anything really. Would make it way more entertaining to play for both sides.

​@@anonymoususer-y7hthese just lengthen the game, not balance things to make it fun. The survs will still end up tunneling the gens after since gens are still required and killers will still tunnel the survivors since their objective is kill.

Exactly. If the survivors blitz through the gens, the Killer pretty much has to tunnel to have any hope of getting a kill.

@@SirPumpkinKnight it's 2 sides of the same coin with that. Killers tunnel cause of gens flying. Survivors push through gens cause killers tunnel them out. Both plays incite the other, are the most direct when it comes to getting wins, and are generally not that enjoyable.

Quitted the game since 2021, ppl were arguing about tunneling and face camping and metas, etc. I played with my friend casually ( 4-man swf), I also played killers when my friends not online. I get that killers need to camp and target weak links to "win" the game. However, as a casual swf, its not fun for whoever dying first and have to spectate the next 10-15 mins. That was why I quitted this game. I blame the game, not the players, ppl just gonna follow the 'meta' whatever games they're playing, whether if its rushing gen or tunnelling. Been watching you Tru3 since For Hornor days, YTB hasn't recommended me DBD contents for a while, come back to this video and I see that ppl still arguing abt this problem jeez

If you don’t like the fact you have to spectate then play solo que? And every game has metas no game is truly 100% balanced, your argument here made absolutely no sense. And what’s up with this argument about tunneling and camping, i can assure you if behavior did anything to make tunneling harder every killer main including true here would be crying, I just watched his video how on 2v8 you have to pick up survivors and you automatically hook them and he cried about that and said you should just be able to stomp on them. The thing about this game is it’s 2 sides against each other, if you nerd or buff one side the other side is going to complain and cry. Sure tunneling and camping are annoying to play against, but you have so many perks to counter it, one good one is dead hard, off the record, decisive strike, and many more I forgot, it is much harder to tunnel now then it was before. So your whole argument is very dumb I have to say.

The meta of the game force you to play in an ‘unfun’ way for both parties, there is no side objectives, the ranking system is poor. How am i making an argument when i played both sides and sympathize with both ?

Regarding the tunnelling debate. I’ve also said plenty of times if survivors didn’t do their objective as efficiently, killers would feel less pressured to do theirs as efficiently. Creating a much healthier and overall fun gameplay loop. But of course if you tell that to any survivor main they won’t have it. To them rushing gens is completely fine and natural. But a killer doing the equivalent yeah how dare they. They act like tunnelling is personal and malicious as if I was planning this before the match or something “oh yeah this survivor I’m gonna tunnel them because and hope I ruin their day” like maybe there’s some that are this way but guaranteed 99% of killer players don’t. They tunnel simply because it’s the most efficient way to play and combat the fast gen speed.

I agree with this and I’m a survivor main. I hate the arguments that people make about one side doing their objective too well, if I’m playing survivor I’m going to try and finish the gens and heal as fast as I can because that’s my objective, and when I play killer I try to kill every survivor even if I have to tunnel. What people forget is if you do get tunneled, just get the chase points maybe you pip and click the next button and play the next game. One thing I also have to mention is it’s the minority of players that complain about this stuff. The majority of players I face when I play killer or survivor are positive they say gg even if I tunnel them, there might be 1 in 20 games that I get someone annoyed or toxic but the majority of my games are not actually toxic. And with toxic I mean messaging vulgar things not in game banter such as t bagging and stuff.

Certainly. Unless it's literally you and your buddies fighting each other, there is no reasonable expectation of fuck-around time. You never know what you're going to get on either end, so while it might be fun to mess about on occasion, it's usually the best call to just play in earnest, because that's simply what most people do. It is illogical and completely unreasonable to demand someone play in a certain way other than refraining from blatant BM. There's a caveat to that on certain games with extremely small communities, where everyone knows everyone and you're pretty much stuck with each other. In those cases it's ok to REQUEST that someone of particularly high skill level to tone it down a bit so everyone continues to have fun. That prevents an already small community from shrinking, but that is absolutely not the case here.

Like I’m not blaming survivors for just sitting on gens. I’m calling out their blatant hypocrisy, for thinking that the killer doing their objective efficiently is somehow “toxic and bad gameplay and they’re just trying to ruin your day”

The only problem I have with tunneling is when it’s the baby and they did not sign up for that. Like a good player shouldn’t complain. But the baby? They feel bullied. Like that poor Jill

When it comes to scourge hooks.. I feel that either all hooks should turn into scourge hooks, or they make it to where scourge hooks are 100% guaranteed to be evenly placed in the map. For example if you where to cut a map into four evenly cut pieces, one scourge hook should be guaranteed to be in the middle of each of these squares.

Tunneling is absolutely not limited to mobile targets. I've played several games with a PvP feature where the objective is to occupy several areas on a map. I cannot tell you how many times a match is lost because one team is obsessed with holding whichever area is the middle ground. Red team's racking up kills and points from holding A and C, while Blue team's like "Yeah, well, guess who has B?! Oh, we lost..."

If they just made the game based around hooks instead of kills everyone would be happy. Incentivize killers to get as many hooks as possible, maybe some kind of hook chain mechanic multiplier where it keeps going up when you hook each survivor one after another? Have it give you a speed boost or temporary aura reading or something as you get the multiplier up.

They strategically rush the gens in the middle of the map then when it's time to do the last one, killer can't do anything since they're so far apart. But that's ok, only killer can't use strategy.

As much as I hear you on always wanting pain res for every book is the fact that I can’t hold the charges then. There are times I’ll purposely not put them on a scourge hook for when survivors aren’t doing gens or when I’m still doing a 3 gen I’ll save the hooks for later on in the match if I can

8/10 games will have one or two weak survivors taking the survivors chances down to 75/50% while the killer is constantly at 100%… It’s simple math. But people who don’t play both sides equally will never see this fact.

No single interaction in this game tilts me more than a survivor completing a generator in my face. If they do that, that's when I lose all desire to play politely in that match. But also, SWF players kinda fuck themselves - if I'm a solo queue, and I get tunneled out, it's not nearly that bad since I can move on to the next game.

Please BHVR, bring back rank based matchmaking so I don't have to sweat every game!!! SBMM is flawed as a concept, it only works if both Survivor and Killers want to sweat their ass off every game, which is not the case.

There is no rules. But high level survivors can knock out gems so fkn fast. What is a killer supposed to do? They must tunnel if they care about winning. As a high MMR killer, I never complain about gen-rushing because survivors are doing what they are supposed to be doing. With that being said, I hard tunnel every game and win almost all of them, and I slug for that 4k every time too. lol I have to start running Iron Maiden because constantly the last survivor hides.

7:50, not really, would you need to completely get rid of it. People would still tunnel because it would STILL be the best strat, less people would tunnel, i agree, but it still will happen... If survivors stopped being efficient, then the roles would be switched, survivor would be hell to play, and killer would be doable if tunneling

Lol "survivors tunnels gens". Only 2 gens are done when Tru3 decides to completely tunnel out someone. Seems he tunnels no matter what. Winning like a 10 year old could. Cause tunneling takes the skills out of the game. But congrats tru3.
