Welcome back, looks great. Cant believe you've kept it so light, but most the weight comes with finishings. You shouldn't ditch all your old videos, just put a disclaimer in the description box of the videos. I never took your videos as instructional, you're just sharing how you did something.

Total boat fairing compound works the best and is a waterproof epoxy . It goes on like bondo, sands like bondo, but doesn't expand or contract. Nice build.

Oh man, i really like the curves/angles of this one. 6.0 was a little bit "firefly" looking to me (browncoat "serenity" reference) but this version looks aerodynamic but also simple. I love it. Ive been thinking more and more about copying your 4.0 design (non-cabover design) while incorporating some of these new enhancements. Keep up the great work!

Very nice work, Dave. I like your focus on just a video diary rather than a “how-to”. I so admire your sense of aesthetics, and your detail oriented build-out. I could really use one of these, built on an 8’ truck bed, with an extended cab cab-over section. It would allow long range touring with a trailer towing a small car and motorcycle. Best of luck to you with the camper builds, and the channel. Good Vibrations

I am really interested in the build of this camper. Looks incredible and perplexing how it is so much lighter than production made campers. I just am having trouble finding the order to the videos related to 7.0. This one says I am back but I am not finding the videos before this. What is the best way to figure out the order of videos to follow the progression of how you pulled this all off? Again, I am really impressed how this is turning out.

I wonder how well leuion (not sure how it's spelled) The thin stuff they use under vinyl plank flooring would work. As long as it's waterproof and wind tight i think leuion would be a great option for cutting down the weight.
@EndgameCampers
@EndgameCampers Жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea; however, that type of plywood is not as strong and is harder to keep straight (it tends to be wavy because it is meant to be bent).
@mal.814
@mal.814 Жыл бұрын
@@EndgameCampers should have figured you probably already thought of that option. Was just curious. I plan on building something similar to your 7.0 design. Minus the cool angles I don't think I'm skilled enough to attempt those

Mr. Dave. Question. What made you go with all wood studs? Why not metal studs? And why quarter outer walls? I've used metal 1" studs and 1/4 outer walls for 15 years for builds.....or I buy 16 grad metal sheets for outer walls depending on the buyer....saving 3 pounds....I really like your hard work and consistency. Keep up the great work. Definitely inspiring

It’s a polyurethane based coating. I may have referred to it as paint, but it is a lot more durable. Metal sheets are not needed and would just add weight. Thanks for watching

@EndgameCampers I wish you explained the cantilever/weight issue. 2 adults is ( per the FAA LOL) approximately 450 lbs. Now extend that over the cab some 3ish ft and that's alot to over come structurally. How is that accomplished?
