I was in my semi 12 days ago and was hit head on by another semi. I was going 65 at the moment of impact. Not sure how fast the person that caused the crash was going. I attribute wearing a seatbelt and the fact that my semi was a heavy duty rig. The frame was reinforced. I’m very very blessed.

It's been illegal to drive without a seat belt for 45 years for both front and rear seats, in South Africa. Even small, cheaper cars the seat belt alarm is so annoying you can not ignore it. My 8 year old Hyundai I20 has such a sensitive seat belt alarm that taking my 5kg miniature pincher to the parlour is triggered by her sitting on the front passenger seat.

Wearing a seat belt saved my life, probably my head. I was a passenger and the car rolled. The sun roof came sown on me and had to be cut out of the car and a static caravan. Would've been lights out and devastated parents if I hadn't have belted up. They work.

I was hit by police car that was running a red light in Denver. He had lights and siren on but with AC on and in broad daylight those don’t work. They gave me a ticket of course but I fought it and won in a 2 day jury trial. 3 Denver Police officers all lied on the stand to protect him but jury did not believe their lies. Police are professional liars. Their rules do not allow them to run red lights just cause they have siren or lights on unless it is safe to do so. They attempted to legally prevent me from getting a copy of their emergency pursuit rules or of the accident scene photos they took but the court forced them. Crooks and scum. Luckily I could afford a good lawyer or they would have won.

It is an accident until it is determined that it is NOT. A description is only an assumption until it is proven through investigation. A cop comes up on an car crash, since there is no written description, they have to investigate using complex data. It is a simple as not wearing a seat belt to the car or truck having a mechanical failure. Or driving at exccessive speed, losing control.

Or are they just dragging it out for dramatic purposes here???? Lol 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@nighthawkf1174 Жыл бұрын
no. They may automatically be illegal, but they are NOT automatically at fault for the accident. also yes it VERY much matters his speed. the supposition being if he was going the speed limit instead of 70mph, its possible the turning car is able to either clear the intersection normally, or react to clear or LESSEN the accident and possibly survive.
@lkop09nowbterp Жыл бұрын
No. That is not true. At least in most states. Whoever's actions caused the collision is the at fault driver. I've seen it so many times, the impaired driver (although they should not have been driving) was not the cause of the collision and was therefore not at fault. The old addage "they shouldnt have been driving in the first place since they were drunk", although true, is not used to determine "at fault" status. Maybe it should be, but it's not. There is usually always a traffic violation committed that is the cause of the collision, and sometimes it is not committed by the drunk driver.
