Oh my God! Jen. That is fantastic. What I love with your videos is that I can see your brush technique and skills so clearly. Thank you for taking the time to make these and explaining why you are doing what you’re doing. What was that Mack rubber tool? I’ll have to see if I can get one here in the UK. Looking forward to the next video.

hey thank you so much! that tool is called the wipe out tool i have a link in the description. but also since you are in the uk and i dont know if they are over there yet. look into rubber tip style cuticle pushers and also if you have a art store that has clay tools take a browse around and find some with a rubber ends that come to a point tip and also a angle tip.

I can’t believe I’ve sat here and binge watched your videos ha. I used to letter signs and doors etc. Lead paint was what I used but this was in the 90’s but then it got to where even commercial sign painters couldn’t buy it anymore. And yes I Always had some good music on when I was in my groove. You have awesome technique

I discovered the double-coat method by pure accident. Was painting white letters on a red door and noticed some transparent spots in the brush strokes. Had a little bit of trial and error but finally laid down the second coat at just the right time. Never knew it had an actual name. Great videos, Jen and awesome work as always.

Nice job! I recently had a frustrating problem of needing to letter a truck in some very humid conditions and it started to dry with a haze even though I had my infrared dryer pointing at it and a fan, too. I postponed the rest of the job till this weekend when it's supposed to be dryer weather. I was not using hardener, but not sure if that would have prevented it. I have run into problems doing the 'Chicago 2-coat'. I might have waited for too many letters before going back to start re-coating, I don't recall. (Ironically, I live just outside of Chicago.)

Thanks again for sharing. To add to your comments on books, the EC Williams sign painting course is, I guess, public domain now and pretty easy to find online. It's ancient but as a beginner I found it quite helpful.

Someone told me that you can't paint on vehicles cause it has to be airbrushed cause they said it would leave ugly streaks with the paintbrush . I think that person is wrong . Does it have to do with what paint you use and what you put in it ?
@HotRodJenPinstriping10 ай бұрын
they were wrong in the "can't" department. Painting on all types of "transportation" by a paint brush before the invention of a airbrush has been a thing. Some people still prefer graphics to be painted by a paint brush that yes will leave brush marks when it's over clear.. Some others like their graphics done by an airbrush. Depending on what the job is/customer is after one might be more suitable than the other.
